Vitamins Bring Hope to Every AIDS PatientImportant Results from the World's First Vitamin Community ProgrammeGood nutrition and vitamins are the most important measure to fight immunodeficiency diseases like AIDS. Every textbook of biology documents that vitamins are essential to produce white blood cells (including CD4) and boost the immune system. While this scientific fact has been known for decades, the use of vitamins in the fight against AIDS has not entered medical practice. This will change now. On December 4, 2005 the Dr. Rath Health Foundation held a landmark conference "The natural Control of AIDS - from Science to Health Care Policy" in Johannesburg. This conference was attended by the world's leading scientists active in the field of controlling AIDS naturally. The conference summarized the results of a micronutrient programe conducted in the townships of Cape Town with the help of the South African Civic Organization, SANCO, and other community-based organizations. The results of this community health programme leave no doubt: Vitamins and other micronutrients can effectively control the symptoms of AIDS and improve the quality of life without side effects. Vitamins Help Reverse Those AIDS-Symptoms that Determine the Course of the DiseaseDuring the year 2005 HIV-positive people with AIDS living in the Townships of Cape Town participated in this community health programme. They received nutritional counseling and a defined micronutrient programme consisting of vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients. Before and after each month on this vitamin programme the participants reported their health status. Below you find the combined results of these reports. The disease symptoms were graded 0 = no symptoms, 1 = mild , 2 = medium, 3 = advanced, 4 = severe symptoms. The more severely patients suffered from these symptoms, the higher is the column. The rote Säule on the left of each picture shows the severity of AIDS-related symptoms in patients before entering the Vitamin Community Programme. The blue column explains how much the AIDS-related symptoms decreased after 4 weeks on the Vitamin Community Programme. The brown column shows whether there was any further change in the severity of the AIDS-related symptoms after 2 months on the programme. In summary, the difference between the red, blue and the brown columns shows the decrease of AIDS related symptoms, that is the improvement in quality of life for the participants.
