Drugs flushed into the environment could be cause of wildlife decline

October 13, 2014

Potent pharmaceuticals flushed into the environment via human and animal sewage could be a hidden cause of the global wildlife crisis, according to new research. The scientists warn that worldwide use of the drugs, which are designed to be biologically active at low concentrations, is rising rapidly but that too little is currently known about their effect on the natural world.
Read article in the Guardian (UK)

Comment: Evidence is growing worldwide that the pharmaceutical industry is polluting the environment and that even our drinking water supplies are now contaminated with measurable amounts of dangerous chemical drugs. A study published in 2009, for example, found that fish caught near wastewater treatment plants serving five major U.S. cities had residues of pharmaceuticals in them. Testing has also revealed that at least 46 million Americans are drinking water contaminated with pharmaceuticals. Meanwhile, scientists in the UK have found cancer drugs in tap water and rising levels of antidepressant drugs in coastal waters which they fear could seriously upset the natural balance of the ecosystem and potentially damage the food-chain. The world’s highest drug levels in water are believed to occur in India, where 21 different active pharmaceutical ingredients – at 150 times the highest levels detected in the U.S. – have been found.

The Ongoing Propaganda War Behind GMOs Exposed

October 9, 2014

The United States has been paying farmers for over two decades to NOT produce food, yet biotech would have us believe that genetically modified organisms are necessary to feed the world. This is but one of the many lies they have perpetrated, all the while hiding the real truth behind GM crops. Genetically modified organisms and the chemicals which support their growth are just an outcropping of the military industrial complex and the war industry.

Dr. Chan, who dealt with the 2009 avian flu pandemic and the SARS outbreaks of 2002-3, said the Ebola outbreak had progressed from a public health crisis to “a crisis for international peace and security.”

Let food be thy medicine

October 13, 2014

The father of Western medicine, Hippocrates, taught that food should be our medicine. He also formulated the original version of the Oath that is sworn by many phycisians. “With regard to healing the sick,” so goes the oath, “I will devise and order for them the best diet.” Physicians who take the oath also swear: “no man’s entreaty shall prevail upon me to administer poison to anyone, neither will I counsel any man to do so.” The Hippocratic Oath is not made by the leading members of the pharmaceutical industry and/or by legislators, authorities, scientists and politicians serving their interests. Their oath is not of the Hippocratic kind. Their oath says: “Let medicines be thy food.”

A Billion Tons of Food Wasted Yearly While Millions Still Go Hungry

October 9, 2014

In his parody of the Michael Jackson hit “Beat It”, the American satirist and singer Weird Al Yankovic has a parent urging his son to eat the food on his plate, warning that “other kids are starving in Japan”. The parody has raised smiles since it was released 30 years ago, but today “Eat It” could be a battle cry for activists trying to reduce the widespread waste of enormous quantities of food, an urgent concern around the world and no laughing matter.

After years of sweeping the issue under the rug and hoping no one would notice, the FDA has now finally admitted that chicken meat sold in the USA contains arsenic, a cancer-causing toxic chemical that’s fatal in high doses. But the real story is where this arsenic comes from: It’s added to the chicken feed on purpose!

US-Russia Nuclear War Could Wipe Out Humanity – Nuclear Physician Warns

October 13, 2014

By Federal government of the United States (http://sonicbomb.com/albums/album44/able_001.jpg) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

A nuclear war that will deplete the ozone layer, emit radioactive pollution, form massive fire storms, and a nuclear winter could ignite between the United States and Russia over the Ukraine crisis. Helen Caldicott, an Australian physician, an advocate of citizen action to address nuclear and environmental crises, the founding president of Physicians for Social Responsibility and a 1985 Nobel Prize nominee warns that the Cold War has returned and could escalate into a nuclear war between Russia and the United States.

Comment: With the world currently in a dangerous situation on several different fronts simultaneously, and the Ebola epidemic rapidly being instrumentalised by interest groups that have established a global trillion-dollar business with disease, it is notable that the mass media is essentially ignoring Caldicott’s timely warning here.

Anti-TTIP demonstrations seize European capitals

October 13, 2014

Some 400 activist groups marched all over Europe on Saturday (11 October) in protest against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), as the EU-US trade deal crystallises opposition to a wide variety of issues – from shale gas to corporate finance.
Read article at euractiv.com

Comment: TTIP, also known as TAFTA, is being negotiated in clandestine between the Obama Administration and unelected bureaucrats of the Brussels EU. Across the United States, every member of the natural health community, every health food store and every citizen needs to be alerted that the implementation of TAFTA would destroy vitamin freedom. Similarly, every citizen in Europe needs to be alerted that TAFTA would flood Europe with GMOs, destroy environmental safeguards and threaten entire economies. If you live in the United States or Europe, please therefore support the “Say NO to TAFTA” campaign and share this information as widely as possible.

UKIP wins first parliament seat in landslide victory

October 10, 2014

Britain's anti-EU UK Independence Party won its first elected seat in parliament on Friday by a huge margin and came a close second in another vote, proving it poses a threat to the country's two main parties in a national election next year.
Read news report at reuters.com

Comment: Following his successful election, Douglas Carswell, the new UKIP MP, notably quoted Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and the words of John Wycliffe, a 14th Century dissident translator of the bible into English, saying he backed “government of the people, by the people, for the people.” He also specifically stated that “the governing can no longer presume to know what is right for the governed" and that "cosy cartel politics is not meaningful democracy.” Towards the goal of bringing positive change to Europe, we believe it is high time to create a broader public awareness regarding the fact that the key architects of the Brussels EU were recruited from among the same technocrats who designed the plans for a post-WWII Europe under the control of the Nazis and the IG Farben cartel. At the global level, until such time as the Brussels EU dictatorship is dismantled, neither true health, lasting peace nor real social justice will be possible.
