August 17, 2013

Patients who rely on paracetamol to treat their crippling osteoarthritis are at risk of heart failure and strokes, experts have warned.

Comment: A key strategy of the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’ is the development of drugs that merely mask symptoms while avoiding the curing or elimination of diseases. The use of paracetamol to treat arthritis is a classic example of this. In contrast, Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine approach opens up the possibility to prevent and treat this condition naturally, at the cellular level, through the targeted use of specific micronutrients. Micro-Chipped Pharmaceuticals Given Green Light by Medical Totalitarians

August 15, 2013

Proteus Digital Health which recently changed their name from Proteus Biomedical has been given approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to dose you with a micro-chipped pill. The company has been working with the FDA since 2008, at its own admission, to ‘determine the regulatory pathway for this new technology.’

Comment: Along with the micro-chipped pill, this company has also developed a biometric sensor patch which can send information to a smart phone app. The patch records when a pill is ingested and even keeps track of sleep patterns and physical activity levels. As such, it is conceivably possible that these types of technologies could ultimately be used to try to force patients into taking patented chemical drug medicines by nullifying their medical and/or life insurance if it is discovered they have discontinued them.

African Food Sovereignty under attack by corporate interests

August 15, 2013

Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), a coalition of pan-African networks, with members in 50 African countries and representing smallholder farmers, indigenous peoples and civil society, met in Addis Ababa 12-16th August 2013 to formulate an action plan to safeguard Africa’s sovereignty over its food, seeds and natural resources from the assault on Africa’s food systems. Africa’s diversity and knowledge systems are being threatened by corporate and genetically modified (GM) seeds, agro-chemicals, resource grabs and laws that prevent farmers from freely using, sharing or selling their seed. These threats come from amongst others, the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and the G8 "New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition" that strongly promote the interests of multinational seed, fertilizer and agro-chemical companies at the expense of the rights and interests of smallholder farmers.

The EU and the Attack on European Workers’ Wages

August 15, 2013

Five years after the Wall Street crash of September 2008, figures compiled by Britain’s House of Commons Library on wage rates in the 27-member European Union show that workers’ living standards have been thrown into sharp reverse. The statistics belie claims that the euro zone has “turned the corner” with a modest rise in growth over the last quarter. The situation is particularly acute in those countries that have been subject to the dictates of the “troika”—the EU, the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF)—which has overseen massive cuts in social spending as demanded by the international banks.
