Eating half the recommended amount of salt per day could increase the risk of heart attacks, scientists warn

NEWS

People who cut back their salt intake to half the recommended amount per day may be more at risk of having a heart attack or stroke, scientists have warned. Eating less than three grams of salt a day could lead to serious health problems in the future, according to a new study, which found current health recommendations appear to be confined only to those who have high blood pressure.

COMMENT

What this finding reminds us is that orthodox medicine has yet to understand the main cause of high blood pressure. Fortunately, therefore, Dr. Rath’s breakthrough understanding of this health problem opens up an exciting new possibility for controlling it. The main cause of high blood pressure is a chronic deficiency of essential micronutrients in the millions of smooth muscle cells lining the blood vessel walls. Nutrients such as vitamin C, lysine, proline, arginine, magnesium and others are critical for maintaining the strength and elasticity of the blood vessels – and thereby for maintaining normal blood pressure.

To read about high blood pressure studies conducted by researchers at the Dr. Rath Research Institute, read this issue of their health newsletter. Additional information on the natural control of high blood pressure can be found in chapter 4 of Dr. Rath’s classic book, Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks…But People Do!

Powerful painkillers for back pain like morphine and tramadol are 'NOT effective and can be dangerous'

NEWS

Opioid painkillers - which include tramadol, oxycodone and morphine - provide ‘minimal benefit’ for low back pain, a review of research has found.

COMMENT

With painkillers being its third highest grossing sales category at almost $60 billion per year, the pharma industry doesn’t care that these products are ineffective and dangerous. Driven by the profits it has to make for its shareholders, improving human health is not its driving force. Instead, the key strategy of pharma companies is the development of drugs that avoid the curing or elimination of health problems and merely mask symptoms. The widespread promotion of painkillers is arguably the classic example of this.

As Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine concept explains, the primary cause of today’s most common health problems is not a lack of drugs but rather a chronic deficiency of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other specific micronutrients.

To learn how addressing these deficiencies using the micronutrient synergy principle is the most effective approach to health, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s health newsletter.

Antimicrobial resistance in soil: Potential impact on the food chain

NEWS

New research will investigate if large amounts of antibiotic resistant bacteria are present in agricultural soil which may spread into the food chain. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the major issues facing society: by 2050, if not tackled, it will kill more people than cancer, and cost, globally, more than the size of the current global economy, say experts. The aim of the research is to understand how AMR is introduced into natural soil bacteria, for example from manures applied by farmers or exposure to domesticated or wild animal and bird fecal droppings, and how this transfer takes place in different soil types.

COMMENT

In patients, resistance to treatment with antimicrobial drugs is becoming an increasingly serious global public health problem. So much so, in fact, that antimicrobial resistance is a larger phenomenon than antibiotic resistance. In addition to drug-resistant bacteria, the antimicrobial-resistant species also include other drug-resistant microbes such as fungi, parasites, and viruses.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 480,000 new cases of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (XDRTB) were diagnosed in 2013. Other disease causing and highly virulent organisms that have already developed drug resistance are malarial parasites; the fungus Candida; methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA); and bacteria-causing gonorrhea. Drug-resistant bacteria are estimated to cause 99,000 deaths in U.S. hospitals every year.

To read about a study showing how micronutrient synergy may prevent antimicrobial resistance, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s health newsletter.

EU Referendum: Boris Johnson compares EU's aims to Hitler's

NEWS

Boris Johnson has compared the EU's aims to Hitler's, saying both involved the intention to unify Europe under a single "authority". The pro-Brexit Tory MP said both the Nazi leader and Napoleon had failed at unification and the EU was "an attempt to do this by different methods".

COMMENT

Boris Johnson is of course correct to make this connection. The modern-day Brussels EU is essentially an attempt to achieve the same economic and political goals as those of Nazi Germany, but this time via stakeholders dressed in business suits rather than military uniforms. As we describe in chapter 3 of our book, The Nazi Roots of the Brussels EU, the Nazi blueprint for the so-called ‘European Union’ was drawn up in 1941, two years after the outbreak of World War II.

In Dresden, Germany, at that time, there was a little-known Nazi research institute headed by a man called Arno Soelter. In 1941, Soelter summarized the Nazi plans for postwar Europe in a book, titled: “The Greater Sphere Cartel – An Instrument of Industrial Market Order in a New Europe.” Soelter’s book describes ALL the key elements that we see around us in the Brussels EU of today. Examples include the unelected European Commission as the construct’s executive body, and the system of directives that are used for European lawmaking.

Confirming these historical origins, in the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial against IG Farben which took place in the German city of Nuremberg between August 14, 1947 and July 30, 1948, the legal counsel of Fritz ter Meer, a senior Director of Farben, specifically stated that the concept of a "Total European Economic Area" had shaped his client's war aims.

Is Medicine Really the Third Leading Cause of Death in the US?

NEWS

Probably not. Compelling evidence says it is THE leading cause of death, even ahead of heart disease and cancer.

COMMENT

As this article points out, conventional medicine usually claims that natural medicine is neither effective nor proven safe, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. But are the defenders of a system that kills more Americans than both heart disease and cancer really in a position to determine what is safe? Of course not, they’re simply promoting their trillion dollar-a-year business with disease.

The fact is that the current global healthcare system is broken. Ultimately, it is only by switching to a system based on natural preventive approaches that heart disease, cancer and other chronic health problems can and will be conquered.

Antidepressants do not prevent suicides and may even increase the risk of attempts

NEWS

A new analysis published in the current issue of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics discloses important findings as to the role of antidepressant drugs in preventing suicide.

COMMENT

So unsuccessful have patented drugs been in curing depression that pharma companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Merck and Sanofi are all reported to have essentially stopped looking for new ones. As for those drugs that already exist, evidence strongly suggests they do more harm than good and that the antidepressant drug market has an underreported dark side the ‘business with disease’ would prefer patients weren’t told about. Studies show that through affecting the brain and altering the way people think, these mind-altering chemicals are capable of causing hostility, aggression, mania, violence, and even suicide.

Omega-3 levels linked to better cognitive performance

NEWS

Increased serum levels of the long chain omega-3s EPA, DPA, and DHA are associated with better performance on neuropsychological tests in older men and women, says a new study.

COMMENT

As this study demonstrates, the mountain of evidence supporting the health benefits of omega-3 fatty acids continues to grow. In this latest example, the researchers found statistically significant associations between serum omega-3 fatty acid levels and better performance on neuropsychological tests of frontal lobe functioning in older men and women.

Further recent studies have shown that omega-3 fatty acids can help treat major depression, reduce inflammation in chronic kidney disease, and stop the development of Alzheimer’s disease.

With additional research showing that omega-3 fatty acids are helpful in the control of cardiovascular disease, neurological disease, chronic inflammation and cancer, it is clear that incorporating these essential micronutrients into a carefully balanced synergistically designed supplement regime may be one of the best things you can do towards enhancing and protecting your health.

Nazis created 'basic plan' for European Union, UKIP MEP Gerard Batten says

NEWS

Mr Batten made the comments after Boris Johnson invoked Hitler to criticise the EU. The Nazis drew up the “basic plan” for the European Union decades before it was actually established, a UKIP MEP has claimed.

COMMENT

As we describe in our book, The Nazi Roots of the Brussels EU, the key architects of the European Union were recruited from among the same technocrats who had previously designed the plans for a post-WWII Europe under the control of the Nazi/IG Farben coalition.

Based on literally tens of thousands of historical documents obtained by our Foundation from international archives, the publication of this book effectively means that the Brussels EU “experiment” is now over.

No truly democratic person, organization or political party can possibly support the Brussels EU and retain any credibility.

Reducing doses of common stroke drug 'could save thousands of lives': Death rates would be slashed by a sixth if levels were cut by a third

NEWS

Reducing the dose of alteplase – taken by one in nine stroke patients – would slash brain bleeds by two thirds and death rates by a sixth, according to an international study led by Leicester University.

COMMENT

Given the known toxicity of alteplase, it seems hardly surprising that reducing the dose results in the slashing of death rates in patients who take it.

The known side effects of alteplase include severe allergic reactions; difficulty breathing or swallowing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, throat, or tongue; chest pain; confusion; fainting; severe dizziness or headache; severe muscle aches or pain; severe stomach pain; speech problems; vomiting blood; blood in the urine; bleeding from the gums; vaginal bleeding; kidney problems; and others.

MS drug mitoxantrone may be linked to increased risk of colorectal cancer

NEWS

The multiple sclerosis (MS) drug mitoxantrone may be associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer, according to a study published in the May 11, 2016, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology. Mitoxantrone suppresses the immune system. It was first developed as a chemotherapy drug for certain cancers.

COMMENT

To further expand their markets, pharmaceutical companies are continuously looking for new applications for the drugs they already sell. The use of mitoxantrone, a chemotherapy drug, in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis is a typical example of this. A particularly toxic drug, mitoxantrone is already known to cause a wide range of serious side-effects and, in cancer patients, to result in the development of secondary cancers.

Omega-3 lowers childhood aggression in short term

NEWS

Incorporating omega-3, vitamins and mineral supplements into the diets of children with extreme aggression can reduce this problem behavior in the short term, especially its more impulsive, emotional form, according to University of Pennsylvania researchers who published their findings in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry.

COMMENT

Around the world, interest is growing in using supplementary micronutrients as a means of controlling behavioral problems. In the Netherlands, for example, researchers are examining whether improving nutritional status can reduce aggressive and antisocial behavior in prisoners with anger management problems.

The underlying idea behind this area of research is essentially a simple one; namely that the brain needs to be nourished, just like all other organs of the body, and that it is therefore vital to consider the brain’s nutritional needs as a key factor in governing behavior.

With the links between diet, nutrition and behavior becoming increasingly understood, it may ultimately turn out that better nourishment – as opposed to simply harder punishment – can make a significant contribution towards creating a more peaceful and harmonious world.

Selenium deficiency linked to deadly heart disease affecting pregnant women

NEWS

Researchers have found a close link between selenium deficiency and Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), a heart disease that affects pregnant women and recent mothers.

COMMENT

As Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine concept explains, the primary cause of today’s most common chronic diseases including various forms of heart disease, is a chronic deficiency of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other specific micronutrients.

Bayer Said to Explore Bid for $40 Billion Seed Company Monsanto

NEWS

Bayer AG is exploring a potential bid for U.S. competitor Monsanto Co. in a deal that would create the world’s largest supplier of seeds and farm chemicals, according to people familiar with the matter.

COMMENT

On reading this news story we are reminded of the old saying that “birds of a feather stick together”.

As proven in the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials, Bayer was part of the IG Farben Cartel that planned and financed World War II. A war that cost the lives of over 60 million people, its driving force was IG Farben’s ambition to achieve control of the global oil and drug markets and eliminate, by force, any competition. Towards achieving this, Bayer, Hoechst, BASF and the other IG Farben companies financed the rise to power of the Nazi party and the transformation of German democracy into a dictatorship. After a trial lasting almost a year, the Nuremberg judges found IG Farben’s managers guilty of slavery, mass murder, and other crimes against humanity.

As for Monsanto, as one of the biggest producers of GMOs and pesticides it is seen by many people as one of the world’s most hated companies. Such is the global opposition to the company and its products that “March Against Monsanto” events now take place in hundreds of cities and dozens of countries every year. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s widely-used herbicide product, Roundup, has been reported by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer to be “probably carcinogenic to humans”. Monsanto denies this, of course, claiming that the toxic chemical is “safe”.

On the basis of their histories we would expect any proposed merger between these two companies to quite rightly be the subject of massive public controversy.

Researchers: Medical errors now third leading cause of death in United States

NEWS

Nightmare stories of nurses giving potent drugs meant for one patient to another and surgeons removing the wrong body parts have dominated recent headlines about medical care. Lest you assume those cases are the exceptions, a new study by patient safety researchers provides some context.

COMMENT

A similar study published in 2015 measured the incidence of medication errors and adverse drug events during the perioperative period – immediately before, during or right after a surgical procedure – and suggested that mistakes or adverse events occur in around 50 percent of operations and in 5 percent of drug administrations. Examining 277 randomly selected operations conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States, the study found that a third of the errors uncovered resulted in adverse drug events or harm to patients.

In clinical practice, so dangerous is the pharmaceutical approach to medicine that a study published in 1998 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) estimated that in 1994 around 2,216,000 hospitalised patients in the United States had suffered a serious adverse drug reaction (ADR) and that 106,000 had suffered a fatal ADR. This suggests that prescription drugs were between the fourth and sixth leading cause of death in the USA in that year.

Moving beyond the current outdated medical paradigm thus necessitates a wholesale redesign of our healthcare systems. This includes properly educating our doctors, who, mostly through no fault of their own, have been reduced to playing the role of a sales force for the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’. The sooner this urgently-needed transformation takes place, the sooner injuries and deaths resulting from orthodox medicine and its reliance on dangerous synthetic chemical drugs can be brought to an end.

This Vitamin Deficiency is a Global Health Problem

NEWS

We all hear about vitamin D’s importance on a regular basis, but do you really know how to make sure you’re getting enough of it? It’s not as simple as just going outside on a sunny day.

COMMENT

Evidence clearly shows that micronutrient deficiency is a global problem. Moreover, it is not merely vitamin D that the people of the world are lacking but micronutrients in general. In a particularly notable example, a recent study carried across four different areas of India found that 75 percent of the country’s population are deficient in several key vitamins.

Similarly, an analysis of the American population has found that not only do large portions of people in the United States have too low an intake of micronutrients, they are not even obtaining sufficient amounts when using dietary supplements.

As such, with the primary cause of today’s most common chronic diseases now known to be an inadequate supply to our bodies of essential micronutrients, the need for a new global healthcare system, based on preventive approaches, has never been more urgent.

Study into vitamin C's effectiveness in treating intensive care patients

NEWS

A Christchurch researcher is doing New Zealand's first study of vitamin C's potential as a treatment for intensive care patients with sepsis.

COMMENT

For some years now, public pressure has been growing in New Zealand for these types of studies to be carried out. In a famous case demonstrating the effectiveness of vitamin C that came to prominence in 2010, Allan Smith, a New Zealand dairy farmer, was in a coma and dying from severe pneumonia as a result of swine flu.

Despite his doctors wanting to turn off the life support machines and let him die, his family insisted that he should be given vitamin C. Allan went on to make a full recovery. You can watch a “Living Proof” TV report of Allan’s story on YouTube here.

Germany pushes for European army

NEWS

Germany is pushing for a European army in the 28-member EU bloc, according to a white paper put forward by the German government. The army is envisaged to have a joint headquarters and shared military plans.

COMMENT

In order to protect its multi-billion euro global markets in the fields of energy, nutrition and health, the Oil and Drug Cartel must not only eliminate any internal resistance within Europe. It must also take decisive action to defend its global investment markets in other areas of the world. Towards this goal, for some years now the Cartel has been actively pursuing the buildup of a European army – both conventional and nuclear – with Germany at its head.

As we describe in our book, The Nazi Roots of the Brussels EU, twice before, in WWI and WWII, the Oil and Drug Cartel took Europe and the world into the abyss. More than one hundred million people paid with their lives as a result of these corporate interests’ quest for global control.

Today, in the second decade of the twenty-first century, we are faced with the situation that these same corporate interest groups are undertaking a third attempt to subjugate the world under their control. This third attempt today is particularly malicious because the Cartel is hiding its obvious motives of global control behind the deceptive propaganda of peace. The Cartel’s political stakeholders are trying to convince the people that a Brussels EU army is needed in order to prevent Europe from repeating the dreadful experiences of WWI and WWII.

We now have to make a choice: Either we close our eyes and ignore these historical facts or we recognize our responsibility to prevent history from repeating itself and act. Clearly, the only way forward is to act. The first step to end the centuries of deception – that has kept millions of people illiterate about the real culprits behind the largest crimes in history – is to share this information with others.

Google given access to healthcare data of up to 1.6 million patients

NEWS

A company owned by Google has been given access to the healthcare data of up to 1.6 million patients from three hospitals run by a major London NHS trust.

COMMENT

As this story demonstrates, like its counterparts in many other countries the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) has an uncomfortably close relationship with multinational corporate stakeholders. We saw another example of this just recently when an investigation found that more than 130 NHS officials have simultaneously been paid as consultants by pharmaceutical companies. The officials concerned, most of whom are believed to be managers or other senior administrators, are involved in assessing which drugs the NHS should give to patients. Suggesting the actual number who have been taking money from the pharma industry may even be higher than thus far reported, the Daily Telegraph, the British newspaper that uncovered the story, describes the problem as being “systemic” within the NHS.

Ultimately, the choice now facing the people of the world is a very simple one: Either we allow this and all future generations of mankind to become completely dependent on the Pharma Cartel and be controlled by its stakeholders, or we take responsibility for creating a new prevention-oriented healthcare system that is run for the people and by the people. In the coming years, whether we are successful in saving millions of lives will be determined by all of us, collectively, making the right choice.

Zinc + multivitamins may boost height gain in children: Study

NEWS

Supplementing school children with zinc plus a multivitamin may lead to significantly greater height gain, compared to placebo, says a new study from Thailand.

COMMENT

Although a balanced diet is one of the best ways for everyone to obtain nourishment, the reality is that the majority of children do not get enough micronutrients from the food they eat. Too few fresh fruits and vegetables, along with the consumption of highly processed food, results in chronic deficiencies of essential micronutrients in children that impair their growth and health, thus making them prone to diseases.

Children are especially vulnerable to micronutrient deficiencies because vitamins, minerals, and other natural compounds are essential to support healthy development of the blood, bones and all organ systems, especially the nervous and immune systems. Inadequate nutrition impairs physical growth, as well as development of the brain and nervous system, and reduces a child's immunity and learning ability. Therefore, providing appropriate nutrition is the obvious first step in supporting the healthy development of a child at any age.

To read how the health benefits of micronutrients have been scientifically documented in children, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s newsletter.

Long-term multivitamin use linked to fewer heart problems: Harvard study

NEWS

A daily multivitamin may protect men from cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in the long-term, says a new study.

COMMENT

Slowly but surely, the world is beginning to catch up with what Dr. Rath has been saying all along about cardiovascular diseases. As he describes in his classic book, Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks…But People Do, heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and many other cardiovascular conditions CAN be prevented naturally, without drugs.

The eradication of cardiovascular disease is the next great goal uniting all mankind. Achieving it is dependent on one single factor: how fast we can spread the message that vitamins and other essential nutrients are the solution to the cardiovascular disease epidemic?

The main hurdles we have to overcome are the interests of pharmaceutical companies and other special interest groups, who are trying to block the spread of lifesaving information about micronutrients in order to protect the trillion-dollar-a-year drug market. But the health interests of the 7 billion people on planet Earth are more important than the stock price of any drug company. As such, in order to save millions of lives, we, the people of the world, have to recognize that the eradication of cardiovascular disease is dependent upon our joint efforts in spreading awareness of the lifesaving possibilities of natural health approaches.

BREXIT CONTAGION: Now nearly HALF of Europeans want their own EU referendum

NEWS

Nearly half of Europeans want their own in/out referendum on quitting the EU, a new poll has revealed.

COMMENT

In this latest sign that public support for the Brussels EU is continuing to fall, a survey conducted among more than 6,000 people from eight European countries found that 45 percent wanted referendums on whether their countries should remain part of the dictatorial construct. Particularly significantly, 48 percent of Italians, 41 percent of the French and 39 percent of the Swedes said they would vote to leave if given the chance.

Young boy diagnosed with rare cancer killed by chemotherapy treatment intended to save his life

NEWS

Little Ryan Ross was given the treatment after being diagnosed with leukaemia. But after just two doses of the drugs cocktail he was dead.

COMMENT

The sad case of young Ryan Ross is a reminder of the dangers of chemotherapy. A highly toxic procedure, it indiscriminately damages all cells in the body. To make things worse, chemotherapy particularly affects those healthy cells in the body that are multiplying rapidly, such as the white blood cells of the immune system. Thus, precisely when the body of a cancer patient has the greatest need for an effective defense, the immune cells are being systematically destroyed.

Even a lay person can therefore understand that if medicine has to resort to ‘shotgun’ approaches such as chemotherapy, this can mean only one thing: the root causes and pathways of the disease have not been properly understood and that effective therapies that could specifically target cancer cells are not being developed.

Any ‘shotgun’ approach to a disease therefore reflects desperation on the part of medicine itself. To deceive patients and provide false hope, conventional medicine uses the terms chemo-’therapy’ and radio-’therapy’ – when actually no effective ‘therapy’ is available. The past half century of conventional cancer therapy can thus only be described as a failure.

But there is an alternative approach that has been scientifically shown to block all key mechanisms that make cancer a deadly disease. To read about it read Victory Over Cancer, the groundbreaking book by Dr. Rath and Dr. Niedizwiecki.

Omega-3 supplementation could save EU €12.9bn a year in heart disease spending

NEWS

If all over 55s in Europe took 1 g of omega-3 EPA-DHA every day the EU could collectively save about €12.9bn in cardiovascular disease health care spending every year, a report commissioned by Food Supplement Europe (FSE) has found.

COMMENT

As this report demonstrates, evidence continues to grow that the use of supplements can reduce healthcare costs. In another notable example, a ‘game changing’ economic report released in September 2013 concluded that supplements could save billions of dollars in healthcare costs in the United States. Prepared by market research experts Frost & Sullivan, it presented a strong economic case that targeted dietary supplementation regimens can help control rising healthcare costs and produce considerable health insurance savings.

Equally impressively, research shows that tens of billions could be saved even by something as simple as making sure a population gets adequate intakes of vitamin D. A review published in 2010 found that ensuring people in Germany get adequate intakes of vitamin D could save the country around $47 billion a year in healthcare costs.

Common, over-the-counter drugs may be harming seniors' brains: study

NEWS

Common drugs, such as Benadryl and Dimetapp, could be harming the brains of seniors, a new study has found. Prolonged use of certain drugs called anticholinergics is linked to physical changes in the brain, according to Shannon Risacher, an assistant professor of radiology and imaging at the Indiana University School of Medicine. “The concern is that taking these drugs may increase your risk of dementia,” Risacher says. “Particularly in people with a family history of dementia.”

COMMENT

There can be no doubt that pharmaceuticals are dangerous for everybody, regardless of their age. But for seniors, especially when taking multiple drugs, the risks to health are considerably higher. For example, a recent study published in the Journal of the American Geriatric Society describes how older people taking multiple pharmaceutical drugs face a significantly greater risk of frailty, disability and death. Providing shocking evidence of the dangers of “polypharmacy”, the researchers found that each additional medication added to a patient’s regimen was associated with a 22% increased risk of going from a state of robust health to dying during the period of the study.

The fact is that pharmaceutical drugs don’t treat the root cause of diseases, they only treat the symptoms. Not only does this therefore result in the patient’s health problem simply being masked rather than properly treated, the problem is compounded by the fact that all drugs inevitably cause side-effects. To make matters worse, the emergence of side-effects results in the patient then being prescribed still further drugs as a means of controlling them. And so it goes on. The inescapable consequence is a vicious circle where the more drugs that are taken, the worse the patient’s health becomes.

Iron, vitamin D supplements being distributed among school girls

NEWS

TEHRAN — Iron and vitamin D supplements are being distributed among high school girls over the current Iranian school year, the deputy health minister said. “Over the current school year we have distributed iron and vitamin D supplements among 3.2 million school girls,” Ali-Akbar Sayyari told Fars news agency. “Considering the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency among school girls, distribution of supplements is a priority for us,” Sayyari added.

COMMENT

The government of Iran is to be congratulated for its distribution of these supplements among high school girls. By also educating 500,000 students as health ambassadors in the country, and initiating campaigns which call for a healthy diet, getting enough exercise, and avoiding smoking, the Iranian government is taking important steps towards protecting the health of its citizens.

Ultimately, for any country, the essential building blocks for a new, prevention-oriented health care system are education and participation of the people. By taking advantage of scientifically-proven approaches and spreading natural health education, cardiovascular disease, cancer and other chronic health problems can be reduced and largely eliminated – thus saving millions of lives.

10 Buildings That Prove Solar Can Be Beautiful

NEWS

Big, blue, shiny, and often slapped onto roofs as an afterthought, solar panels have an unsightly reputation, but that's beginning to change as architects experiment with creative ways to incorporate these mini energy farms into buildings.

COMMENT

For over a century now, special interests have been controlling the people of the world through maintaining the “tyranny of oil”. Even today, despite the fact that solar power and other natural non-polluting alternatives are available, some of these interest groups are intent on preventing us from accessing them. But with even the Rockefellers abandoning oil now, it is gradually becoming clear that the world may soon be on the verge of a new era in energy production.

In the area of energy, the goal of the Movement of Life is to end the global dependency on oil and bring about a change to renewable energy. Free Energy for All is possible, it simply depends on the people of the world committing themselves to ensuring it comes about.

Cancer drug prices are high at launch and stay that way

NEWS

The cost of new oral cancer medicines is rising no matter how you slice it. Between 2007 and 2013, these pills increased in cost 5 percent each year, and rose another 10 percent when regulators approved additional uses for the drugs, according to a new study in the May issue of Health Affairs.

COMMENT

As the Washington Post has pointed out, the $10,000-a-month drug has become the new normal in cancer treatment. As a direct result of this immoral profiteering, the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’ now makes more money from cancer each year than from any other disease.

But it doesn’t have to be like this. Safe and effective natural approaches to controlling cancer already exist that can block all key mechanisms that make it a deadly disease. With patients worldwide increasingly becoming aware of these scientifically-based natural alternatives, public faith in chemotherapy for cancer is on the verge of collapse. Moreover, there are also now clear signs that the scientific orthodoxy is beginning to wake up to natural approaches.

In this situation, realizing that a cancer-free world is possible, many cancer patients are choosing to turn their backs on the status quo and take their own decisions about what is best for their health. Not only is the Pharma Cartel increasingly being backed into a corner over this development, the end of the 'age of chemo tyranny' is gradually coming within sight.

New water purification system could help slake the world’s thirst

NEWS

More than 1 billion people around the world lack access to fresh water, and the problem is growing: By 2025 a whopping two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages. To slake that thirst, some wealthy communities have invested in water desalination plants that turn salt water into clean drinking water. But these plants are too expensive for most communities to afford. Now, researchers have come up with a solar-powered technique that could make small-scale desalination systems affordable, even for individual households.

COMMENT

The right to water is arguably the most basic human right of all. Depending on what country you live in you may think that everyone already has free access to water. If so, however, you’d be wrong. Multinational corporations are trying to control our access to water – with all means available to them. Behind the scenes, companies are lobbying politicians worldwide to privatize water supplies and force citizens to pay for the privilege of drinking from them. These firms are becoming especially active in the developing world, where controlling societies starts with controlling water.

CoQ10 Helps Gulf War Syndrome

NEWS

Researchers are finding that CoQ10 may be helpful for treating U.S. Veterans afflicted with the set of chronic conditions that have become known as “Gulf War Syndrome,” or “Gulf War Illness.”

COMMENT

Associated with pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines and other chemical substances that soldiers fighting in the 1990-91 Gulf War were repeatedly exposed to, the symptoms of Gulf War Syndrome include fatigue, headaches, joint pain, indigestion, insomnia, dizziness, respiratory disorders, and memory problems.

The symptoms of this syndrome can be highly debilitating, with some veterans even becoming bedridden. Shamefully, therefore, in their desperate attempts to protect the trillion dollar-a-year ‘business with disease’, drug industry stakeholders from the media, government and medicine persist in publicly claiming that the symptoms are “unexplained” or a “mystery”.

The bottom line, of course, is that there’s no such thing as a safe drug. The more drugs that are taken, the higher the risk of side effects. Ultimately, despite the denials of the drug industry and its stakeholders, understanding this basic principle doesn’t require rocket-science.

Painkiller Paracetamol Has An Unusual Side Effect You Didn't Know About!

NEWS

A new study has found that taking this medication can affect the brain’s ability to detect errors. Conducted by researchers at the University of Toronto and University of British Columbia in Canada, the study is the first neurological study to look at how acetaminophen could be inhibiting the brain response associated with making errors.

COMMENT

While this article and the study it describes may sound trivial, the fact is that paracetamol (acetaminophen) is a very dangerous drug. As we reported last year, a scientific review has looked at the risks of taking paracetamol on a long-term basis and concluded that its dangers are seemingly being underestimated even by clinicians. Published online in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases journal, researchers from the UK examined eight studies assessing the association between chronic use of the painkiller and major adverse events. Contrary to the general impression given by the pharma industry and its stakeholders that paracetamol is a safe “cure-all” drug, the researchers discovered that long term use of it raises the risk of heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, renal failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and early death.

With shocking long-term risks such as these, and even short-term use prenatally or in infancy now found to be unsafe, evidence continues to mount that paracetamol is arguably one of the most dangerous over-the-counter drugs available.

Less body fat for toddlers taking vitamin D: Supplement given during first year of life critical for muscle-mass development

NEWS

A healthy intake of vitamin D in the first year of life appears to set children up to have more muscle mass and less body fat as toddlers, according to a new study. The findings emerged from research initially aimed at confirming the importance of vitamin D for bone density.

COMMENT

In addition to being critical for muscle mass development in childhood, studies show that vitamin D is similarly important for older people. In this respect the benefits of vitamin D fly in the face of advice from conventional medicine, which has traditionally seen the loss of muscle strength that occurs with ageing as being untreatable and inevitable. After the age of 30, human beings typically lose 3-8 percent of their muscle mass each decade. Over time this results in a decrease in muscle strength and a consequent increase in falls and mortality.

However, a study of postmenopausal women from Brazil has shown that vitamin D3 supplements can significantly increase muscle strength, protect against muscle loss and reduce the risk of falls. Impressively, the researchers observed these benefits in women even as late as 12 or more years after menopause.

However young or old we are, based on the groundbreaking Cellular Medicine research conducted at the Dr. Rath Research Institute it is essentially now possible for everyone to enjoy optimum health and wellbeing. Ensuring an optimum daily intake of the correct micronutrients and taking advantage of the micronutrient synergy approach are the most important things we can all do towards achieving this.

After the leaks showing just what it really stands for, this could be the end for TTIP

NEWS

The documents show that US corporations will be granted unprecedented powers over any new public health or safety regulations to be introduced in future. If any European government does dare to bring in laws to raise social or environmental standards, TTIP will grant US investors the right to sue for loss of profits.

COMMENT

President Obama recently stated that were the UK to vote to leave the Brussels EU in its upcoming referendum on 23rd June, it would be “at the back of the queue” for a trade deal with the United States. In doing so, however, he was apparently forgetting – or choosing to ignore – the fact that a very large number of people from both the UK and Europe are deeply opposed to TTIP and would be more than happy if the deal never went ahead at all.

Also known as TAFTA (the Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Area), TTIP has been deliberately designed to put the profit interests of multinational corporations before the health and lives of ordinary people. This is why, of course, far from being conducted in a transparent manner, the negotiations for the deal have taken place under an almost fanatical level of secrecy.

Without doubt, TTIP should be vigorously opposed by US and European citizens alike.

Observers say Harvard anti-supplements article so poorly done as to be 'embarrassing'

NEWS

A recent Harvard publication blasting supplements as ‘suspect’ and ‘useless’ was criticized by industry observers as ‘unbalanced’ and even ‘embarrassing.’

COMMENT

With global awareness increasing regarding the effectiveness of vitamins and other micronutrients in controlling chronic diseases, attacks on supplements by stakeholders of the pharmaceutical orthodoxy are becoming desperate and even laughable. Ultimately, however, these attacks are destined to fail as they cannot change the fact that the current global healthcare system is broken beyond repair.

Crucially, therefore, under the new system of healthcare that our Foundation is working towards, cellular health education will not be restricted to elite groups of doctors, or to any other privileged groups of people. Instead, it will be freely available to every single human being living on our planet. Such an approach, in which health is truly respected as the fundamental human right that it is, will bring significant improvements to the health and lives of everyone, young and old alike, and ultimately save millions of lives.

Long-term RCT supports magnesium supplements for cardiovascular health

NEWS

Twenty-four weeks of supplementation with a magnesium citrate complex may reduce the stiffness of arteries in overweight and obese adults, says a new study from The Netherlands.

COMMENT

Magnesium is nature’s calcium antagonist. Its benefit for the cardiovascular system is similar to that of the calcium antagonist drugs that are prescribed in orthodox medicine – except that magnesium is natural and produced by nature itself. Clinical studies have shown that magnesium is particularly important for helping to normalize high blood pressure; moreover, it can also help normalize irregular heartbeat.

As Dr. Rath describes in his classic book, Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks, But People Do, the eradication of heart disease is the next great goal uniting all mankind. Achieving it is essentially dependent on one single factor: how fast we can spread the message that vitamins, minerals and other essential micronutrients are the solution to the cardiovascular disease epidemic.

The urgent need for concerted action to be taken to prevent and control cardiovascular diseases can be seen in World Health Organization (WHO) statistics showing they are the number 1 cause of death globally. With an estimated 17.5 million people dying from cardiovascular diseases in 2012, representing 31% of all global deaths, more people die annually from them than from any other cause.

So there is no time to lose: The more active we become in promoting the fact that cardiovascular disease can be eradicated, the more lives we will save!

Zinc deficiency may contribute to increased inflammation among HIV-positive individuals

NEWS

In a new study, University of Massachusetts Amherst researchers Krishna Poudel and colleagues report that zinc deficiency may contribute to chronic inflammation among HIV-positive individuals. Theirs is believed to be the first investigation to explore the association between serum zinc levels and inflammation among people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, while taking their anti-retroviral therapy (ART) into account.

COMMENT

Very early on with the emergence of HIV infection and AIDS it was established that the disease was associated with not only protein calorie malnutrition, but also specific nutritional deficiencies. Infection with HIV exacerbates the impact of poor nourishment, while poor nutrition hastens the progression of HIV infection to AIDS, wasting and death. Opportunistic infections and their associated symptoms limit food intake and intensify resting energy demands, increasing nutritional needs. HIV-related symptoms such as anorexia, nausea, vomiting, malabsorption and diarrhea further worsen poor nutrition. For undernourished HIV-infected people, the resulting downward spiral of inadequate nutritional intake, inability to maintain weight and lean tissue mass, micronutrient deficiency and increased susceptibility to opportunistic infections accelerates the development of AIDS.

It is therefore essential in any treatment of HIV that a comprehensive nutritional programme is adopted. Such a programme should include, where necessary, supplementary meals and micronutrients. Such regimes, if implemented properly, will promote and enhance the immune systems of HIV-positive patients.

To learn how a clinical trial published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in November 2013 confirmed that Dr. Rath was right that vitamins reduce the risk of immune decline and illness in HIV patients, read this article on our Foundation website. Hayfever drugs 'could reduce brain size and increase risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s', study says

NEWS

A group of widely used drugs available over-the-counter and on prescription could be linked to the development of dementia and Alzheimer’s in older adults, a study has found.

COMMENT

Despite earning over $1 trillion dollars a year from the sale of drugs, far from curing diseases the pharma industry is instead – as this study demonstrates – actually causing them. As such, with its annual earnings forecast to increase still further to $1.3 trillion by 2018, the need to move away from the unsustainable pharma model and establish a new healthcare system, based upon scientific breakthroughs in the areas of nutritional and Cellular Medicine, has never been greater.

Significantly, therefore, a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that taking supplements of B vitamins and having high levels of omega-3 fatty acids can halt the development of Alzheimer’s disease. Carried out over a period of two years by scientists at University of Oxford in the UK, it followed 168 elderly people and showed that brain shrinkage, a hallmark of the devastating condition, was prevented.

Clearly, if we follow the advice of the drug industry and its stakeholders in the media and medicine, diseases like Alzheimer’s will continue to spread in epidemic proportions. But if our goal is to help prevent these health conditions through science-based natural means, our task is firstly to inform ourselves of the facts – and then spread this knowledge to as many others as possible. If you want to work with us towards improving human health where you live, contact us and let’s discuss how we can work together to help make a better, healthier world.

Nearly three-quarters of families make an effort to buy organic food, OTA survey reveals

NEWS

Buying organic is a top priority for many American parents, especially when it comes to the food they feed their children, according to new research form the Organic Trade Association.

COMMENT

With scientific research increasingly confirming the health benefits of organic food, it is clear that by making the effort to buy it American families are doing the right thing. In all, around 81 percent of American families are now reported to be eating organically at least some of the time.

In view of the convincing evidence in its favor, it is hardly surprising that organic farming approaches are rising worldwide. In Europe, for example, the organic farming sector has grown rapidly over the past ten years, with around half a million new hectares now being added annually. In February 2015, the Danish government launched an ambitious plan to double its organic farmland by 2020 and increase demand for organic food. Similarly, in Sweden, the city of Malmo has set itself the impressive goal of becoming all-organic by 2020.

As Dr. Rath described in the Barletta Declaration, in order to create a truly effective, preventive health care system we have to tear down the artificial barriers that exist between nutrition and health, as well as between medicine and agriculture. In this respect, the growing awareness regarding the higher micronutrient content of organic foods, and the crucial role organic farming can play in benefitting both our health and that of the environment, will go a long way towards making this happen.

Greece set to run out of cash by May pushing Europe into another crisis

NEWS

Debt-ridden Greece is dangerously close to running out of cash and plunging the eurozone into a fresh crisis.

COMMENT

As always with these types of media stories, the accusation that the poor state of the Greek economy is entirely the country’s own fault ignores some key facts. In a little-reported statement given on March 1st at the influential London School of Economics in the UK, Lord Mervyn King, the former Governor of the Bank of England, confirmed that the financial crisis afflicting Europe since 2009 is essentially the result of a “deliberate” act of policy.

But Mervyn King was hardly the first high-level official to confirm that Europe’s economic malaise has been inflicted on its citizens deliberately. In a barely-noticed article in the Financial Times back in 2001, the then president of the Brussels EU Commission, Romano Prodi, stated that he was sure “the euro will oblige us to introduce a new set of economic policy instruments. It is politically impossible to propose that now”, he went on. “But some day there will be a crisis and new instruments will be created.”

Due to its fundamentally undemocratic structure – with the EU Commission holding all executive power and the EU Parliament serving merely as a fig leaf – the Brussels EU needs to be publicly rejected by its citizens, dismantled, and eventually replaced by a truly democratic system of representation: A Europe for the People, by the People. Until such time as this happens, however, the 500 million people of Europe will continue to remain subject to economic dictatorship, widespread unemployment, and a political model in which democracy increasingly becomes a thing of the past.
