Brexit: Europe stunned by UK Leave vote

NEWS

A wave of shock is reverberating around Europe as countries across the EU and beyond digest the decision by UK voters to leave the European Union.

COMMENT

While we celebrate the result of the UK referendum, our Foundation is not against a united Europe. We believe that the future shape of the European continent has to be designed around the concept of a democratic Europe for the People, by the People. This is why we have been working closely with survivors of Auschwitz, with whom we have been sharing this goal for many years now.

As the Auschwitz survivors have distinctly recognized, building a new truly democratic Europe can only be done by the people of Europe themselves – not by corporate or political stakeholders. Moreover, this new Europe cannot be built by the creation of so-called “free trade deals”, whose primary beneficiaries are – again – the chemical, pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries, the banks, and other multinational cartels.

By voting to leave the ‘Brussels EU’, the British people have struck an important blow against this undemocratic construct. Above all, the Leave vote of over 17 million people in the UK was a wake-up call for democracy in Europe. Now, the people of Europe have the chance to build a democratic Europe – a ‘Europe for the people, by the people.’ The time to start is now!

June is Recognized As Cataract Awareness Month

NEWS

Prevent Blindness America has declared June as Cataract Awareness Month. Cataracts are the leading cause of vision loss in the United States, and it is the leading cause of blindness in the world.

COMMENT

Over 3 million Americans over 40 suffer from some sort of visual impairment. Vision loss is one of the major causes of disabilities, and age-related eye diseases (AREDs) are rapidly becoming a public health problem in developed countries. Visual impairment caused by AREDs can lead to other serious health issues including decreased mobility, depression, hip fractures, other accidents, and an overall lower quality of life.

To learn about the benefits of micronutrients for healthy eyes, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s health information newsletter.

To learn how scientific evidence of a relation between vitamin C and cataracts has existed since at least 1938, read this article on our Foundation website.

French prosecutors open probe into fatal drug trial

NEWS

Paris prosecutors said on Tuesday they have begun an involuntary manslaughter investigation into a failed drug trial that left one dead and five hospitalised in January.

COMMENT

The medical trial referred to in this news report provides a grim reminder of the dangers of drugs. The study, carried out by Biotrial, a pharmaceutical research firm, was using healthy volunteers to determine the maximum tolerability of an experimental painkiller manufactured by Bial, a Portuguese drug maker.

In return for their taking part in this two-week medical test, the volunteers are said to have each been paid a fee of 1,900 euros (US $2,070). With all six participants having taken the drug at the highest dosage used in the trial, the outcome has been described as the worst tragedy of its kind to have taken place in France. In reality, however, so far as drug trials generally are concerned, the appalling outcome of the experiment is hardly an isolated incident. GMOs and Glyphosate Safe?

NEWS

Two recent studies would have us think so! But who, exactly, is behind the research?

COMMENT

A perspective published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) in 2015 argues that the United States government should change its position and require labeling of genetically modified (GM) foods. Entitled ‘GMOs, Herbicides and Public Health’, the article points out that sharp increases have taken place in the amounts and numbers of chemical herbicides applied to GM crops and that still further increases – the largest in a generation – are scheduled to occur in the next few years. With GM crops now being the agricultural products most heavily treated with herbicides, the authors state they believe that the time has come to thoroughly reconsider all aspects of the safety of plant biotechnology.

Only time will tell whether the United States Food and Drug Administration and other global regulators heed the growing calls for GM foods to be labeled. The longer they refuse to do so, however, the louder and stronger the arguments will become that their officials are putting the interests of GMO manufacturers first and those of consumers a very distant second.

Perth boy Oshin Kiszko: Parents want to stop further chemotherapy

NEWS

The parents of Perth boy Oshin Kiszko are seeking legal advice on how they can prevent him having to undergo more court-ordered chemotherapy for a malignant brain tumour.

COMMENT

In what can only be described as an example of state-sponsored child abuse, the parents of six-year-old Oshin Kiszko were forced by an Australian court to enroll him in toxic chemotherapy treatment. With the young boy’s mother stating that the legal enforcing of the dangerous drugs on her son “almost feels like Nazi Germany”, and a family friend reported as saying of her that she had made “an informed decision that there are better options available elsewhere”, it is clear that awareness of the facts about this brutal form of treatment is rapidly reaching all corners of the globe.

Big Pharma bombshell: Judge finds Merck lied in patent trial, overturns $200-million verdict

NEWS

The public already holds drug manufacturers in low esteem – and now they’ve got more fuel for their opinion. Federal Judge Beth Labson Freeman of San Jose last week found that Merck & Co. lied to a business partner and to the court itself. Freeman threw out a patent infringement judgment Merck had won against Gilead Sciences, and overturned a $200-million jury award.

COMMENT

Unfortunately, the finding that Merck apparently lied to a court is hardly exceptional for drug makers. In fact, the reputation and credibility of the pharma industry had already sunk to a new low last year with news that the price of Daraprim (Pyrimethamine), an anti-parasitic drug that is on the World Health Organization’s list of essential medicines, had been raised from $13.50 to $750 per tablet. Marketed since the 1950s, the drug was acquired by Turing Pharmaceuticals, a start-up company run by Martin Shkreli, a former hedge fund manager. Astonishingly, with even the global mass media seemingly aghast at this latest case of pharma greed, Shkreli shamelessly attempted to portray the 5000% price rise as “altruistic”.

Three months after this price rise Shkreli was arrested by the United States FBI after being indicted on federal charges of securities fraud. He subsequently resigned from his position in Turing Pharmaceuticals and is currently awaiting trial.

Can the reputation of the pharma industry sink any lower? Frankly, we wouldn’t bet against it.

UK court ruling spells trouble for glucosamine

NEWS

The UK Court of Appeal has ruled that glucosamine products above 1500 mg can be sold as food supplements, but has urged the UK medicines agency to look at the matter.

COMMENT

At the root of this court ruling is the fact that a Chinese company, Blue Bio Pharmaceuticals, has been given a prescription-only medicines registration for its glucosamine product by the Brussels EU. Widely available in food supplements both in Europe and worldwide, glucosamine is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It plays key roles in cartilage formation, joint lubrication and repair, and in optimizing the stability and elasticity of the blood vessel walls.

The idea that a naturally occurring substance like glucosamine should be treated like a drug and used as a means of maximizing the profits of one single company is not merely absurd, it is also further evidence that a key goal of the Brussels EU is to control the use of non-patentable natural health therapies and prevent them from competing with the Pharma Cartel and its trillion dollar a year sales of patented drugs.

If you don’t live in the UK or Europe and want to know why the 'Brussels EU' issue is so important to natural health, read this explanation on our Foundation website.

'EU food regulation is world's best': EC veteran on life after DG SANTE

NEWS

After retiring last February as head of the European Commission’s DG SANTE food legislation unit, Basil Mathioudakis is spreading the world globally about the merits of the EU’s food and nutrition regulation as a consultant to industry and governments.

COMMENT

To anyone who is aware of the highly restrictive nature of Brussels EU legislation on food supplements, the idea that it is the world’s best is utterly absurd. Notably, therefore, during his time at the Brussels EU Commission, Basil Mathioudakis played a key role in putting together the construct’s dictatorial Food Supplements Directive.

No less significantly, Mathioudakis was also Head of the Brussels EU Commission delegation at meetings of the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU). In 2005, a text produced by this committee, the so-called Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements, was adopted by the Codex Alimentarius Commission as a new global standard. Vigorously promoted at Codex meetings by Mathioudakis, the restrictive Brussels EU Food Supplements Directive was used as the blueprint for this text.

In 2003, in a meeting of the CCNFSDU, Mathioudakis once bizarrely stated that food and the prevention of diseases do not go together and that health claims for vitamin and mineral supplements should be prohibited. While we don’t know whether he still holds these views, we know for a fact that the legislation he now celebrates remains deeply opposed by natural health supporters all over Europe.

Pharmaceutical industry-sponsored meals associated with higher prescribing rates

NEWS

Accepting a single pharmaceutical industry-sponsored meal was associated with higher rates of prescribing certain drugs to Medicare patients by physicians, with more, and costlier, meals associated with greater increases in prescribing, according to an article published online by JAMA Internal Medicine.

COMMENT

The sad truth is that the medical profession today has essentially been reduced to the role of a sales team for the trillion-dollar-a-year pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’. As a result, not only is it degrading the practice of medicine, the drug industry is easily the biggest barrier currently preventing the global goal of Health for All from being achieved.

Spreading this message as widely as possible, and teaching people about the natural approaches that are available for controlling heart disease, cancer, and other health problems, are important things everyone can do towards saving millions of lives and ensuring that the largest deception and fraud business in human history is finally brought to an end.

Dutch PM says he’s ‘totally against referendums’

NEWS

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte today (13 June) admitted a referendum called by eurosceptic groups on whether to back closer ties between Ukraine and the EU had been “disastrous” after voters soundly rejected the pact.

COMMENT

Whether Mark Rutte likes it or not, the future of Europe – and the world – will not be based on political dictatorship but on the increasing use of participatory democracy. In Switzerland, for example, the holding of national referendums is already commonplace. In that country, if enough eligible voters support a proposal, citizens are entitled to put almost any law passed by their government to a national vote. Similarly, Swiss citizens also have the right to propose almost any constitutional amendment they wish.

Referendums are the future of democracy, and Mark Rutte if doesn’t like it there will inevitably be other potential leaders in the Netherlands who have a better appreciation of the fundamental democratic principle that it is the citizens of a country who should ultimately have the final word in all matters affecting them.

The way forward towards a better Europe and a better world is a political system that works for the people, by the people. If everybody works hard enough towards this, it can happen in your country sooner than you think.

Ritalin Could Trigger Heart Problems In Children

NEWS

Ritalin and similar forms of ADHD medication may trigger abnormal heart rhythms and increase heart attack risk in some children soon after they start taking the drug, according to a new study.

COMMENT

A highly dangerous and addictive central nervous system stimulant, Ritalin (methylphenidate) is commonly prescribed in orthodox medicine for the treatment of children diagnosed with conditions such as “attention deficit hyperactivity disorder” (ADHD) or “attention deficit disorder” (ADD).

Side effects that can result from the use of this drug include allergic reactions; chest pain; breathing problems; hallucinations; behavioral problems such as aggression, hostility or paranoia; seizures (convulsions); numbness; muscle twitches (tics); vision changes; muscle pain or weakness; insomnia; loss of appetite; stomach pain; headaches; and others. The drug has even been linked with causing suicidal thoughts.

Clearly, only a system of medicine that had failed to address the root causes of behavioral disorders would consider giving dangerous chemical drugs like Ritalin – produced by a Drug Cartel that thrives on making profits from disease – to innocent children.

To read how researchers in the Netherlands are using food supplements to reduce aggressive and antisocial behavior, read this article on our Foundation website.

Iron could reduce hospitalisation and help ease symptoms for people with failing hearts

NEWS

Iron supplement injections could ease the disabling symptoms of heart failure, if a clinical study – known as IRONMAN – proves successful.

COMMENT

In sharp contrast to the effectiveness of natural approaches in controlling heart failure, studies presented at the ‘Heart Failure 2016 and the 3rd World Congress on Acute Heart Failure’ conference, which recently took place in Florence, Italy, provide damning evidence of the continued inability of orthodox medicine to prevent and treat this debilitating cardiovascular problem. With one in three heart failure patients still not having returned to work one year after being hospitalized for the first time, and one in four developing the condition within four years of suffering a first heart attack, it is clear that orthodox approaches are not addressing the primary cause of this disease.

To learn more, and to read how researchers from the Dr. Rath Research Institute have conducted a successful pilot clinical trial in heart failure patients using a specific combination of micronutrients, read this article on our Foundation website.

'There's no point giving free cancer drugs to Africa'

NEWS

Giving out free cancer drugs would not help the poorest parts of Africa, the head of pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has told the BBC. Pascal Soriot said "dramatic" progress was being made in treating tumours, and defended the company's pricing policy.

COMMENT

As millions of people around the world are beginning to realize, the bottom line for the pharmaceutical industry is making money. Period. Artificially created and strategically developed over an entire century by the same investment groups that control the global petrochemical and chemical industries, drug company bosses ultimately see the financial interests of their shareholders as being more important than the health interests of patients.

But it doesn’t have to be this way, as there are strategies that would allow mankind to free itself from the dictatorial pharmaceutical approach to health care. To learn about them, see the inspiring speech given by Dr. Rath in Barletta, Italy, in October 2014.

Down's syndrome 'treated' with green tea: study

NEWS

A chemical in green tea has been shown to improve cognitive ability in persons with Down's syndrome, scientists and doctors said Tuesday.

COMMENT

The natural green tea chemical referred to in this study, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), has been shown to be beneficial in a wide range of health conditions. Particularly impressively, it has multifaceted actions in cancer prevention and carcinogenesis.

EGCG works in synergy with other micronutrients such as vitamin C, lysine, and proline in simultaneously controlling multiple mechanisms in cancer growth and spread. Studies conducted at the Dr. Rath Research institute have proven that a specific micronutrient combination containing EGCG is effective in preventing metastasis by inhibiting the action of collagen digesting enzymes and the growth of new blood vessels to the tumor (anti-angiogenesis).

To learn more about the impressive health protective effects of EGCG, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s regular newsletter.

Calcium linked to reduced breast cancer rates: Meta-analysis

NEWS

A review of 26,000 cases has found consuming more calcium-rich foods such as milk and cheese as well as supplements may slightly reduce the risk of developing breast cancer.

COMMENT

Over 90% of cancer deaths are due to its extensive spread through the body (metastasis). Cancer cells metastasize by breaking the connective tissue barrier that surrounds them. Having strong connective is therefore a key factor in controlling cancer metastasis.

The strength and stability of connective tissue is dependent on an optimum production of collagen fibers and the prevention of uncontrolled tissue destruction. An abundant availability of several micronutrients, especially vitamin C and the amino acids lysine and proline, is essential for this function.

To learn how supplements of vitamin C and other micronutrients have been shown in scientific research to effectively control multiple steps in the development and spread of breast cancer, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s regular newsletter.

More Danes want referendum on EU membership

NEWS

Support for a Danish referendum on EU membership is on the rise, according to an Epinion poll conducted for DR News, the national TV broadcaster.

COMMENT

It’s increasingly looking as if Great Britain’s vote on the Brussels EU may turn out to simply be the first of many national referendums to take place across Europe on membership of the dictatorial construct.

As unlikely as it may at one time have seemed, a Europe for the People, by the People will eventually emerge and the reign of the dictatorial Brussels EU will come to an end. It’s simply now a matter of time.

Many with migraines have vitamin deficiencies, says study

NEWS

A high percentage of children, teens and young adults with migraines appear to have mild deficiencies in vitamin D, riboflavin and coenzyme Q10 -- a vitamin-like substance found in every cell of the body that is used to produce energy for cell growth and maintenance.

COMMENT

This study provides further confirmation that, as Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine concept explains, the primary cause of today’s most common chronic diseases is a chronic deficiency of vitamins and other micronutrients. Cellular Medicine defines an optimum daily intake of micronutrients as a basic preventative measure for maintaining health, as well as the safe and effective control of many pathological conditions.

The principles of the Cellular Medicine approach should form the basis of a modern 21st century medical approach to health and disease. Each day that the global implementation of this approach is delayed, thousands of patients worldwide will continue to suffer and die from preventable diseases that are not actually real “diseases” at all; they are simply the consequences of a long-term deficiency of essential micronutrients.

High cholesterol 'does not cause heart disease' new research finds, so treating with statins a 'waste of time'

NEWS

Cholesterol does not cause heart disease in the elderly and trying to reduce it with drugs like statins is a waste of time, an international group of experts has claimed. A review of research involving nearly 70,000 people found there was no link between what has traditionally been considered “bad” cholesterol and the premature deaths of over 60-year-olds from cardiovascular disease.

COMMENT

While these researchers are of course correct that high cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, they have unfortunately not yet understood what it is that actually causes this health problem.

Proof regarding the true cause of heart disease was provided in April 2015 by scientists at the Dr. Rath Research Institute in California. In a groundbreaking study published in the American Journal of Cardiovascular Disease, they showed how heart disease is actually an early form of the vitamin C deficiency disease scurvy.

Building on a discovery made by Dr. Rath in the early 1990s, the publication of this study dealt a major blow to the cholesterol theory of heart disease and the pharmaceutical industry’s associated $30 billion annual sales in patented cholesterol-lowering statin drugs.

To learn more about the lifesaving potential of this discovery, read the press release from April 2015 as well as Dr. Rath’s classic book, Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks…But People Do!

Study finds one-third of women taking bisphosphonates remain at risk for fracture

NEWS

More than 53 million Americans age 50 and older, primarily women, have osteoporosis or are at high risk for the condition due to low bone density. A recent study of oral bisphosphonates, the most commonly prescribed osteoporosis treatment, found that approximately a third of women prescribed these drugs continue to be at elevated risk for bone fracture, an outcome that may have several origins.

COMMENT

Of course, the reason why women taking bisphosphonates for osteoporosis remain at risk for bone fractures is that drugs don’t address the root cause of this disease. Just as with other common chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and others, the primary cause of osteoporosis is a chronic deficiency of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other specific micronutrients.

In this respect, a common misperception is that vitamin D and calcium are the only nutrients needed for healthy bones. However, this belief overlooks the fact that the framework of the bone on which calcium and other minerals are deposited is made of a protein – collagen. Without healthy collagen, bone cannot form or function properly. Healthy bone formation therefore depends not only on sufficient amounts of calcium and vitamin D, but more importantly on a proper supply of vitamin C, the amino acids lysine and proline, and other collagen-supporting micronutrients. Since the human body cannot produce vitamin C or lysine internally, deficiencies of these critical nutrients are very likely and can be further depleted by the stress associated with a bone fracture.

To learn more about preventing and treating bone fractures with micronutrients, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s health information newsletter.

4 Ways Vitamins Could Help Treat Traumatic Brain Injury

NEWS

A study published in the June 2016 issue of Brian Research explores the possibility that supplementation could play a role in treating traumatic brain injury (TBI).

COMMENT

Once again, it is pleasing to see that the key principle behind the micronutrient synergy approach, as pioneered by researchers at the Dr. Rath Research Institute under the direction of Dr. Aleksandra Niedzwiecki, is being understood and utilized by other researchers.

Rather than advocating the use of single micronutrients in the treatment of traumatic brain injury, the researchers who carried out this study suggest that a combination of nicotinamide (vitamin B3), magnesium, flavonoids, and omega-3 fatty acids appear to have the most promise. Significantly, in doing so they also specifically recognized that micronutrients represent a low-cost therapeutic approach with large potential benefits.

EU Office Estimates Almost $1 Billion in Graft Last Year

NEWS

The European Union's anti-fraud office said that almost $1 billion of the bloc's budget was lost to graft and irregularities last year.

COMMENT

Not only is the Brussels EU undemocratic and dictatorial, as this story shows it is also utterly corrupt. A construct with a scandalous history of actively encouraging its officials to conceal information from public scrutiny, fraud and embezzlement have been widespread in it over the past twenty years.

Due to its fundamentally undemocratic structure – with the EU Commission holding all executive power and the EU Parliament serving merely as a fig leaf –the ‘Brussels EU’ is not reformable. It therefore needs to be publicly rejected by the people of Europe, dismantled and eventually replaced by a truly democratic system of representation: A Europe of the people, by the people and for the people.

For some UK teens, sun doesn't provide enough vitamin D

NEWS

At one point in the year, almost 80 percent of teens in a UK study had insufficient vitamin D that should come from sun exposure, and one quarter had insufficient levels even at the peak of summer, according to a new study.

COMMENT

This study’s findings provide a good reminder that supplements of vitamin D are essentially necessary for everyone in today’s world. The results surprised the researchers as the study participants were white children, whose skin is the most sensitive to ultraviolet-B and who supposedly therefore need the least amount of sunlight exposure to get sufficient vitamin D. While available in some foods, vitamin D is produced endogenously in the human body when ultraviolet rays from sunlight strike the skin and trigger its synthesis.

Interestingly, in similar study, researchers have found that over 80 percent of people in India are deficient in vitamin D. This is particularly significant as there has been a general belief that low levels of this micronutrient are uncommon in India due to the abundant amounts of sunshine in the country. Even in Australia, a country where people enjoy an outdoor lifestyle with plentiful sunshine, the incidence of vitamin D deficiency is reaching crisis levels.

Given its numerous proven benefits, and the high likelihood of deficiency wherever in the world we live, it is important that we all take steps to ensure we are getting a sufficient supply of vitamin D to ensure optimum health.

RCT backs monthly vitamin D supplements for mums

NEWS

A once-per-month high dose supplement of vitamin D for mothers after giving birth could help improve the health of both mum and baby, according to an Indian trial.

COMMENT

The nutritional requirements of men and women are not the same. For example, a woman’s body needs extra nutritional support during physiological transitions such as puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, lactation, and menopause. Women are also affected by different health problems than men and are more often diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, arthritis, osteoporosis, and depression.

In addition, despite popular belief that heart disease is a male problem, one in four menopausal women die from heart disease. This makes heart disease, not cancer, the major cause of death for women in the United States. Throughout their various different stages of life, women can therefore benefit from properly selected micronutrients in order to ensure the optimum function of the cells building their nervous, immune, cardiovascular, and endocrine systems.

To learn about the various ways in which women can benefit from proper micronutrient supplementation, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s health information newsletter.

Dietary supplement may prevent and reverse severe damage to aging brain, research suggests

NEWS

A dietary supplement containing a blend of thirty vitamins and minerals—all natural ingredients widely available in health food stores—has shown remarkable anti-aging properties that can prevent and even reverse massive brain cell loss, according to new research from McMaster University.

COMMENT

As this research confirms, the most effective nutritional approach to health doesn’t use single micronutrients alone, but combinations that are carefully chosen and balanced to take advantage of their synergistic effects. Pioneered by researchers at the Dr. Rath Research Institute working under the direction of Dr. Aleksandra Niedzwiecki, this is known as the “Micronutrient Synergy” approach.

Unlike other nutritional approaches, taking advantage of nutrient synergy makes it possible to affect multiple biological targets at once. Studies carried out at the Dr. Rath Research Institute have shown, for example, that nutrient synergy combinations can simultaneously affect key mechanisms of cancer, improve the functions of many organs, and have numerous additional health benefits. To learn more, read this issue of the institute’s health information newsletter.

World on brink of 'dystopia' as antibiotics become useless: TB and pneumonia to be MASS KILLERS and humans will wear special clothes to protect them from the sick, expert warns

NEWS

A golden era of antibiotics shifted the leading causes of death away from infection to cancer and cardiovascular disease. At the moment, we can still treat most infections as only a few are resistant to what is currently the last line of antibiotics – the colistins. But history shows us this will change and colistin resistance is already growing in China and the United States.

COMMENT

Barely a week goes by these days without a media headline telling us that antibiotic resistant “superbugs” have become one of the world’s most pressing health concerns. Declaring that we stand on the threshold of the post-antibiotic era, such news stories try to frighten us into believing that, by the middle of this century, superbugs could be killing millions of people every year. Notably, however, whenever the question is raised as to what alternative approaches might be available for controlling infections, no mention whatsoever is made of the key roles played by essential micronutrients in the proper functioning of the immune system.

Ultimately, media scare stories about the declining effectiveness of antibiotics are simply designed to frighten us into believing that patented drugs, designed and produced by the pharmaceutical industry, are the only possible solution for the control of infections. In fact, it is precisely these types of news stories that helped create the problem of global pharmaceutical dependency in the first place and, as a result, have turned the Pharma Cartel into a trillion-dollar-a-year industry.  To learn more about this important issue, read this article on our Foundation website.

Prince Died From Accidental Overdose of Opioid Painkiller

NEWS

Prince, the music icon who struggled with debilitating hip pain during his career, died from an accidental overdose of self-administered fentanyl, a type of synthetic opiate, officials in Minnesota said Thursday.

COMMENT

Just like the death of music stars Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson before him, the untimely passing of Prince provides yet another tragic reminder of the life-threatening dangers of patented synthetic drugs.

However, while Prince may have died from an “accidental” overdose of fentanyl, this hardly means that the drug can be considered safe. A particularly potent and dangerous painkiller, fentanyl is estimated by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to be over 50 times more powerful than heroin.

Arguably the classic example of drugs being deliberately designed to treat the symptoms of disease rather than the root cause, the fact is that painkillers are now the Pharma Cartel’s  third highest grossing sales category at almost $60 billion per year. As such, given the monstrous profits it makes from these drugs, it can be seen that the Cartel has a financial interest in patients becoming addicted to them.

Micronutrient intake: New approach seeks to determine optimum levels

NEWS

A new approach claims to better determine optimal micronutrient levels for different groups of consumers, opening up the possibility for personalising nutrition in the future.

COMMENT

During the first few years of the twenty-first century, pro-pharmaceutical and anti-natural health forces made significant strides towards their ultimate aim of removing all higher-dose, innovative and effective micronutrient supplements from the global marketplace. With the passing in Europe of the Food Supplements Directive in 2002, and the subsequent adoption by the Codex Alimentarius Commission of its global Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements in 2005, stringent restrictions on the maximum permitted levels of nutrients contained in supplements, enforceable on a global scale, seemed just around the corner.

However, while no such maximum permitted levels have thus far been set, either in Europe or globally, the threat hasn’t gone away. Instead, the pro-pharmaceutical and anti-natural health forces are trying to disguise their goals by claiming that the maximum permitted levels for each nutrient will be calculated via a process known as “scientific risk assessment”. In reality, however, the standard methodologies being advocated for such assessments are generally anything but scientific, and are actually deeply flawed.

All pregnant women in Scotland to get free vitamins

NEWS

All pregnant women in Scotland are to get free vitamins from spring next year, in a bid to give all children the best start in life, the Scottish government has announced.

COMMENT

The Scottish government is to be congratulated for recognizing the importance of protecting the health of pregnant women and their children in this way.

In another example of a government taking action to protect the health of its citizens though natural approaches, the government of Iran recently announced that it is distributing vitamin D and iron supplements among Iranian high school girls. By also educating 500,000 students as health ambassadors in the country, and initiating campaigns which call for a healthy diet, getting enough exercise, and avoiding smoking, the Iranian government is taking important steps towards protecting the health of its citizens.

Ultimately, for any country, the essential building blocks for a new, prevention-oriented health care system are education and participation of the people. By taking advantage of scientifically-proven approaches and spreading natural health educationcardiovascular diseasecancer and other chronic health problems can be reduced and largely eliminated – thus saving millions of lives.

Many Choose Supplements Over Chemo for Breast Cancer

NEWS

Although many use vitamins and supplements to help improve or maintain their health, some people also turn to these and other alternative treatments for disease. A new study has found that when women are using dietary supplements, they are less likely to get chemotherapy for their breast cancer.

COMMENT

As Dr. Rath has pointed out, the international attention being given to Ty Bollinger’s 'Truth About Cancer' documentary is a wake-up call to the world’s political decision takers. In this situation, the blatantly false claims that the pharmaceutical and medical status quo has made about chemotherapy and radiation as treatments for cancer are no longer credible.

With public trust in the efficacy of these toxic approaches collapsing, patients are increasingly turning to natural health approaches that can block all key mechanisms that make cancer a deadly disease. Realizing that a cancer-free world is possible, they are choosing to turn their backs on the status quo and take their own decisions about what is best for their health. Not only is the Drug Cartel increasingly being backed into a corner over this development, the end of the 'age of chemo tyranny' is gradually coming within sight.

What Big Pharma Does Not Want You to Know About the Opioid Epidemic

NEWS

The Pharma-driven opioid epidemic may be as big a con as the mortgage housing bubble collapse.

COMMENT

As we have pointed out previously, with painkillers now being its third highest grossing sales category at almost $60 billion per year, the Pharma Cartel doesn’t care that these drugs only treat the symptoms – rather than the root cause – of diseases. Instead, with millions of patients worldwide now hooked on highly addictive opioids and other dangerous chemical painkillers, they are seen by pharmaceutical companies as a source of vast profits.

Yet again, therefore, we are reminded that whilst it portrays itself as offering solutions to the world’s major endemic diseases, the Pharma Cartel thrives financially on exploiting them. Worse still, not only does it achieve this through deceptive and deadly marketing, it criminally ignores, hides and obstructs the use of safe, effective, and scientifically proven natural therapies that are capable of largely eradicating the world’s major endemic diseases.

Donald Trump exclusive: Russian mob-linked fraudster a 'key player' in presidential hopeful's business ventures

NEWS

A Russian-born fraudster who Donald Trump has claimed he would not recognise was a key player in several of the billionaire's business ventures, the Telegraph can disclose.

COMMENT

While a recent poll suggests more than half of Americans now believe the procedure used by U.S. political parties to select candidates for the presidency is “rigged”, the fact is that Republican contender Donald Trump’s alleged mob connections raise equally serious questions about democracy in America today. Described by CNN – citing an interview with investigative journalist Wayne Barrett – as being "extraordinarily extensive," Trump’s suspected ties to New York and Philadelphia organized crime families are said to go back decades.

To learn more about Trump’s alleged links to the mob, and the common trait he shares with the Brussels EU, read this article on our Foundation website.

One in four patients develop heart failure within four years of first heart attack

NEWS

One in four patients develop heart failure within four years of a first heart attack, according to a study in nearly 25 000 patients presented today at Heart Failure 2016 and the 3rd World Congress on Acute Heart Failure by Dr Johannes Gho, a cardiology resident at the University Medical Center Utrecht, in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Risk factors included older age, greater socioeconomic deprivation, and comorbidities such as diabetes.

COMMENT

The studies presented at this conference, which took place in Florence, Italy, provide damning evidence of the continued inability of orthodox medicine to prevent and treat heart failure.

As Dr. Rath has shown, the primary reason why this debilitating cardiovascular problem occurs is a deficiency of vitamins and other essential micronutrients that provide bioenergy to billions of heart muscle cells. These cells are responsible for the contraction of the heart muscle and for the optimum pumping of blood into circulation.

To learn more about the conference in Florence and to discover how the Cellular Medicine approach provides the REAL answer to heart failure, read this article on our Foundation website.

Strong Association Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Diabetic Retinopathy Indicated

NEWS

A trio of authors today reported their analysis of observational studies revealed a significant association between vitamin D deficiency (VDD) and diabetic retinopathy (DR), one of the leading causes of blindness throughout the world.

COMMENT

The primary cause of diabetes – and other common chronic diseases – is a chronic deficiency of micronutrients such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids. While conventional medicine typically argues that human beings supposedly get a sufficient supply of these essential dietary substances in their diets, independent research conducted in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and other countries has clearly shown that the nutrient content of our food has fallen substantially over the past few decades.

To learn how an optimum daily intake of key micronutrients can help prevent the onset of adult diabetes, as well as help correct existing diabetic conditions and their complications, visit the Cellular Health section of our Foundation website.

Honeybees pick up 'astonishing' number of pesticides via non-crop plants

NEWS

A Purdue University study shows that honeybees collect the vast majority of their pollen from plants other than crops, even in areas dominated by corn and soybeans, and that pollen is consistently contaminated with a host of agricultural and urban pesticides throughout the growing season.

COMMENT

So far as our food supply is concerned, research has shown that the health effects of pesticides and other chemicals may be significantly more harmful than originally believed. Recognizing that chemicals are consumed not individually but in cocktails, an assessment carried out by the National Food Institute at the Technical University of Denmark has demonstrated that even small amounts can amplify each other’s negative effects when present in combinations.

Significantly, therefore, a study conducted in the United States has shown that switching from conventionally grown fruits and vegetables to produce grown organically, even just for a few days, significantly reduces the levels of pesticides in children's bodies. Examining 40 children between 3 and 6 years of age, researchers from the Center for Environmental Research and Children's Health at UC Berkeley found that an organic diet quickly lowered their levels of several pesticides by between one-quarter and one-half. Consistent with other research reporting similar findings, the study is the latest in a long line of scientific investigations confirming the health benefits of organic food.

The USA toppled as world’s most competitive economy

NEWS

The USA has surrendered its status as the world’s most competitive economy after being overtaken by China Hong Kong and Switzerland, according to the IMD World Competitiveness Center.

COMMENT

Starkly contradicting claims that Britain’s economy will supposedly be at threat if it votes to leave the Brussels EU construct in its upcoming referendum on 23 June, the country of Switzerland was judged in this global analysis to be the world’s second most competitive economy and Europe’s most competitive. The Swiss people rejected membership of the Brussels EU in a 1992 referendum and, in a further vote held in 2001, refused to start accession negotiations with it. To this day they remain outside of the dictatorial Brussels EU bloc.

The IMD World Competitiveness Center, a research group within the IMD business school, has published its rankings since 1989 and is an internationally respected analysist of countries’ competitiveness.

One-third of heart failure patients do not return to work

NEWS

One-third of patients hospitalised with heart failure for the first time have not returned to work one year later, reveals a study in nearly 12 000 patients presented today at Heart Failure 2016 and the 3rd World Congress on Acute Heart Failure by Dr Rasmus Roerth, a physician at Copenhagen University Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark.

COMMENT

The reason why one third of heart failure patients have not returned to work even one year after diagnosis is that orthodox medicine has not properly understood the root cause of this disease.

In contrast, researchers from the Dr. Rath Research Institute have conducted a successful pilot clinical trial in heart failure patients aged between 41 and 68 years old. The participants took a specific combination of micronutrients for six months. At the beginning of the study, 70 percent of them were suffering from an extensive impairment of cardiovascular health which significantly affected their daily lives. Thirty percent of patients reported a moderate limitation of their daily physical activities.

At the end of the six-month study period, 80 percent of the patients reported improvement in their health condition by one or more grades on the New York Heart Association scale. Impressively, half of the patients could lead normal lives again without any discomfort or associated symptoms. Overall, the results showed remarkably improved cardiac pumping action and a superior quality of life for the participants. As such, the study provided further evidence that micronutrient supplementation is the only effective way to provide bio-energy for the optimum functioning of heart muscle cells.
