Consuming omega-3 during pregnancy enhances fetal iron metabolism

NEWS

A research has proven, for the first time, that maternal supplementation with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an omega-3 essential polyunsaturated fatty acid, enhances fetal iron metabolism thanks to a greater expression of key genes regulating its transfer through the placenta.

COMMENT

The impressive health benefits of omega-3 fatty acids are now beyond dispute.

Studies have shown, for example, that they are effective in helping to control cardiovascular disease; neurological problems; chronic inflammation; cancer; and other diseases.

L-citrulline may enhance time trial performance for cyclists: Kyowa study

NEWS

Supplementation with the amino acid L-citrulline may reduce time trial completion times by about 10 seconds, says a new study from Kyowa Hakko.

COMMENT

Scientific research is increasingly proving that micronutrients can provide a wide range of benefits to athletes and improve their performance. Illustrating this, a recent article published in the Wall Street Journal described how professional and college sports teams think they have found a cutting-edge advantage in one of the most basic nutrients: vitamin D.

As the article describes, with millions of dollars at stake elite sports teams are now monitoring the health of their players more closely than ever. In the world of professional sport, winning trophies is directly dependent on maximizing the performance of players and ensuring they stay injury-free. Significantly therefore, towards this goal, teams in all U.S. major leagues, some college athletic departments and the U.S. men’s and women’s soccer teams are all now believed to have started tracking their players’ vitamin D levels and intake.

Providing clear scientific support for this approach, a recent pilot study from Scotland has confirmed that taking vitamin D can improve exercise performance. Carried out by researchers from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and presented at the Society for Endocrinology’s annual conference in 2015, the study notes that volunteers given the supplements for two weeks were able to cycle for longer with less exertion than those given placebo pills.

Dutch also want EU membership referendum, poll shows

NEWS

A majority of people in the Netherlands want a referendum to be held on Dutch membership of the EU similar to the one taking place in Britain in June, according to a new poll by Maurice de Hond.

COMMENT

As we have been saying for some time now, the people of Europe are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Brussels EU.

Throughout history, every empire that was built dictatorially and undemocratically, without the consent and support of its people, has predictably failed. The Brussels EU will not be an exception to this rule.

Regardless of the outcome of the UK’s referendum on its membership of the dictatorial construct, citizens in other countries will inevitably demand their own referendums. Sooner or later one country will leave the Brussels EU, and the floodgates will open.

Low levels of vitamin B12 linked to autism, schizophrenia, old-age dementia

NEWS

A new study has pinpointed a connection between low levels of vitamin B12 in the brain and old-age dementia, autism and schizophrenia.

COMMENT

The latest in a string of studies suggesting connections between vitamin B12 deficiencies and various brain disorders, the findings of this study are clearly consistent with the principles of Cellular Medicine.

As described by Dr. Rath, a chronic deficiency of vitamins and other essential nutrients is the most frequent cause of cellular malfunction in the body and the primary cause of many chronic health conditions and susceptibility to various diseases. Towards the necessary and long overdue reform of our healthcare systems, the principles of Cellular Medicine should therefore be used to form the basis of a modern medical approach to health and disease.

Meantime, each day that the implementation of the Cellular Medicine approach is delayed, countless thousands of patients worldwide will continue to suffer and die from diseases that are both preventable and controllable.

Stronger evidence found for link between prenatal exposure to paracetamol and the risk of developing asthma

NEWS

Researchers have provided new evidence that developing asthma can be linked to pregnant women and infants being exposed to paracetamol; by testing that the association was not simply due to the medical complaint for which the person is taking paracetamol.

COMMENT

Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases, affecting 7 million children and 32 million adults in the United States. Worldwide, 235 million people have asthma and the related deaths reach 180,000 per year.

Given the widespread use of paracetamol one can only wonder just how many of these cases have resulted from prenatal exposure to this dangerous drug. Significantly, therefore, researchers at the Dr. Rath Research Institute have conducted a pilot clinical trial in asthma patients aged between 45 and 75 years old. The patients took a specific combination of micronutrients for a period of three months and were intermittently subjected to lung function tests.

At the end of the three months all of the patients were found to have experienced increased lung capacity and many recorded almost double the lung capacity compared to their values before starting the trial.

To learn more about how the micronutrient synergy approach can help in asthma, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s fortnightly news page.

Big, fat and deficient: The UK’s double diet burden

NEWS

Micronutrient deficiencies have been overshadowed by the so-called ‘war on sugar’, science director for British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) warns following the publication of a report.

COMMENT

There can be no doubt now that diets high in sugar (sucrose) are detrimental to health.

However, the focus on the ‘war on sugar’ deflects attention from the fact that a deficiency of vitamins and other essential micronutrients is the root cause of today’s most common chronic diseases. Reducing the intake of sugar, as desirable as this is, will not in itself correct micronutrient deficiencies or prevent the numerous diseases that are caused by them.

But by focussing on a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, and achieving an optimum intake of micronutrients through the use of science-based supplementation based on the principles of Cellular Medicine, you can improve your health and reduce your risk of a wide range of chronic diseases.

Attention problems persist in childhood leukemia survivors treated with chemotherapy alone

NEWS

Pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients treated with chemotherapy alone remain at risk for attention and learning problems that persist after treatment ends, according to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital investigators.

COMMENT

The 8 million deaths that occur globally every year from cancer are one of the greatest health tragedies of our time. As a result of the constant barrage of pro-pharma propaganda produced by the mass media, and the fact that medical schools provide doctors with virtually no proper training in nutrition, leukemia and cancer patients have been led to believe that submitting themselves to intravenous infusions of toxic chemotherapy is the only possible route to regaining their health.

However, and as we recently described in our official video messages for World Cancer Day 2016, almost nothing could be further from the truth. As a first step towards educating yourself and those that are dear to you, we encourage you to inform yourself about the groundbreaking cancer research carried out by Dr. Rath and Dr. Niedzwiecki.

Then contact us to see how we can work together – ordinary people, health professionals and activists alike – and commit ourselves to ending cancer and saving millions of lives.

Southeast Asia nearing its goal of harmonised supplement standards

NEWS

Last October, the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN, completed and agreed to a single set of standards and technical requirements for product labelling, manufacturing, stability testing, limits of contaminants, safety, health claims, and the types and levels of ingredients that can be used in health supplements across southeast Asia.

COMMENT

Vitamin freedom advocates in Southeast Asia should not be fooled by the positive-sounding spin that is being put on this announcement.

Behind the scenes, the dictatorial Brussels EU construct is closely and actively engaged with ASEAN and is ultimately seeking to harmonize Southeast Asian food supplement legislation to its own restrictive laws. The only beneficiary from this would be the Pharma Cartel, which makes billions of dollars from the sale of drugs in the region and is threatened by the availability of non-patentable natural therapies.

With ASEAN having long been seen to be modelling itself on the Brussels EU, harmonised standards involving the types and levels of ingredients in supplements should be vigorously opposed by Southeast Asian vitamin freedom advocates.

Improve your stamina, BP with beet juice

NEWS

Beetroot's deep, overpoweringly red juice has now earned it the reputation of a big endurance-boosting and blood pressure-improving sensation.

COMMENT

Worldwide, there are believed to be over 1 billion people living with uncontrolled high blood pressure, with the number expected to increase 60% by the year 2025. The lifetime risk of developing this health problem is more than 90% after the age 55-60. However, Dr. Rath’s breakthrough understanding of the root cause of high blood pressure opens up a new possibility for controlling it.

As he has shown, its main cause is a chronic deficiency of essential micronutrients in the millions of smooth muscle cells that line the blood vessel walls. Nutrients such as vitamin C, lysine, proline, arginine, magnesium and others are critical for maintaining the strength and elasticity of blood vessels – and thereby for maintaining normal blood pressure.

You can learn more about the groundbreaking Cellular Medicine approach to controlling high blood pressure by visiting the Cellular Health section of our Foundation website and reading this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s fortnightly news page.

How going organic CAN boost our health

NEWS

Paying for organic food delivers real health benefits, a landmark study by British academics suggests.

COMMENT

It is rapidly becoming indisputable that organic food is nutritionally superior to food grown using pesticides.

In 2014, a team led by Professor Carlo Leifert in the UK – who also led this latest research – found that organic food contains up to 69 percent more of key antioxidants than regular food, as well as lower levels of toxic metals and pesticides. Based on an analysis of 343 peer-reviewed studies from around the world, Leifert’s findings destroyed the myth that organic food is nutritionally indistinguishable from that produced using pesticides.

Other studies back up Leifert’s work. For example, a review published in 2009 by the French Food Agency AFSSA showed that organic food contains higher levels of minerals, such as iron and magnesium, as well as more antioxidants.

To learn more about the scientifically proven benefits of organic food, read this article on our Foundation website.

High-cholesterol diet, eating eggs do not increase risk of heart attack, not even in persons genetically predisposed

NEWS

A new study from the University of Eastern Finland shows that a relatively high intake of dietary cholesterol, or eating one egg every day, are not associated with an elevated risk of coronary heart disease.

COMMENT

This study essentially follows the lead of the US Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, who in February 2015 admitted that the “available evidence shows no appreciable relationship between consumption of dietary cholesterol and serum cholesterol."

Nevertheless, and despite all the scientific evidence to the contrary, we are apparently still supposed to believe that cholesterol – an essential substance produced naturally by the body itself – is the true cause of heart disease. In reality, however, as proven in a study published in April 2015 by scientists at the Dr. Rath Research Institute, heart disease is an early form of the vitamin C deficiency disease scurvy.

The growing worldwide awareness of this scientific fact deals a major blow to the cholesterol theory of heart disease and will ultimately make possible the abolition of heart disease as a cause of human mortality.

Poultry farmers 'using more antibiotics linked to resistant food poisoning bugs'

NEWS

Antibiotics that were banned on US chicken farms a decade ago over links to the spread of potentially deadly bacteria in humans are being used in significantly increased quantities by the British poultry industry, an investigation has revealed.

COMMENT

Ultimately, this problem will only be solved when mankind moves across to using a fully organic system of food production. Ignoring the dangers of multiple pesticides and antibiotics in our food supply only further prolongs the artificial division between our food and our health.

As Dr. Rath explains in the Barletta Declaration, the division between food and health is an important reason for the widespread health illiteracy among the people of the world today. The continued existence of health illiteracy is a precondition for the continuation of the status quo’s ‘investment business with disease’.

But with scientific research increasingly confirming the health benefits of organic food, the time has come for us to join together and build a new, prevention oriented system of health care for our planet. German lobbyists in Brussels: Fighting the corner of German business interests

NEWS

Across the EU, more lobbying organisations come from Germany than from any other country.

COMMENT

Particularly notably, of the German companies and organisations that have the most contact with the bureaucrats and technocrats in the European Commission, Bayer, the pharmaceutical and chemical company, had 26 meetings between December 2014 and November 2015.

This statistic illustrates the fact that, unlike in a true democracy, in the Brussels EU dictatorship the real influence and decision-making power lies not with the people but with multinational corporate interests. The people of Europe have neither control over the executive level nor even over the legislative process itself.

Worse still, the parliament they elect has no right for fully independent law-making either. Thus, by any definition, it can be seen that the Brussels EU is a dictatorship.

Zinc supplements may boost immunity markers for the elderly

NEWS

Supplements of zinc may boost the function of immune T cells in nursing home elderly, says a new study.

COMMENT

Despite the existence of a long line of studies demonstrating the safety and effectiveness of micronutrients in improving and maintaining the body’s immune system, the fact remains that an abundance of knowledge and scientific data on natural health approaches has been available for 50, 60, 70 even 80 years now.

It is clearly therefore not by accident that our medical systems have been designed around the use of drugs, or that the mass media produces pro-drug propaganda on a daily basis. To the contrary, it is by deliberate design. The eradication of diseases is by its very nature incompatible with and diametrically opposed to the interests of the pharmaceutical industry. The eradication of immune system-related diseases alone, for example, would destroy a global market worth tens of billions of dollars.

If, like us, you oppose the immorality of the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’, share this link as widely as you can as a means of educating others.

A recent study that said Diet Coke can help you lose weight was quietly funded by Coca-Cola

NEWS

Scientific research claiming that diet drinks could be better than water at helping people lose weight was funded by an industry body which includes Coca-Cola and PepsiCo among its members, it has emerged.

COMMENT

To suggest that so-called diet drinks are healthier than water would be laughable were not its potential health consequences so serious.

Tellingly, therefore, it is notable that funding for this study was also provided by the highly pro-corporate Brussels EU.

Polypharmacy: Multiple medications can trigger frailty, disability and death in older people, study finds

NEWS

Older people who take multiple medications face an increased risk of frailty and death, according to new Australian research.

COMMENT

Unlike safe and effective micronutrients, the use of pharmaceutical drugs inevitably causes side-effects. And when side-effects arise, they frequently result in the prescribing of still further drugs as a means of controlling them.

But this is not by accident. In fact, the deliberate causing of new diseases with drugs is one of the key strategies used by pharmaceutical companies to expand their markets. Cholesterol-lowering drugs, for example, are well known to increase the risk of developing cancer.

Vitamin B8 may help prevent neural tube defects in high risk women

NEWS

Women at risk of carrying babies with spina bifida and other neural tube defects may benefit from taking inositol, also known as vitamin B8, alongside folic acid during pregnancy, researchers have suggested.

COMMENT

Inositol, a lesser-known member of the B vitamin family, is essential for sugar and fat metabolism in the cells of our bodies. It is also important for the biological communication process between the cells and organs in the body.

Hormones, such as insulin and other molecules, are signals from outside the cell. If a hormone docks to a cell, it needs to transmit information to that cell. Optimum levels of inositol are essential for the proper reading of this information through the cell membrane to take place.

High vitamin D products are medicines not food supplements: German government

NEWS

Food supplements containing over 20 µg daily doses of vitamin D could be considered medicinal since they go above and beyond daily recommended intakes, the German Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) has said.

COMMENT

Evidence of the benefits of vitamin D supplements continues to grow. In the last year alone, for example, studies have shown they can safely and effectively lower blood pressure and improve exercise performance; help post-menopausal women increase muscle strength and reduce the risk of falls; and slow down or reverse the development of prostate cancer.

Fully aware there is no drug that can do all of these things, the trillion-dollar-a-year Drug Cartel is becoming increasingly desperate. In an illustration of just how weak the Cartel’s position has become, even the so-called Brussels EU ‘Court of Justice’ has suggested that the supposed absence of a nutritional need for a substance does not provide grounds for banning it. With its options rapidly running out, the Drug Cartel has therefore resorted to lobbying for regulatory controls to be brought in on the sale of vitamin D supplements.

The German government, with its long-standing links to the pharmaceutical industry, can thus be seen as a potential testing ground for regulatory plans that the Drug Cartel would like to export worldwide.

Taking paracetamol while pregnant 'could harm your daughter's fertility'

NEWS

Pregnant women who take common painkillers like paracetamol could unwittingly be putting the fertility of their daughters at risk, a study suggests.

COMMENT

Drugs are dangerous. Period.

When taken during pregnancy the risks are not simply to the mother’s health, but to that of the developing child as well. Significantly therefore, contrary to its portrayal as a safe “cure all” drug, a recent scientific review looked at the risks of taking paracetamol on a long-term basis and found that its dangers are seemingly being underestimated even by clinicians.

Maternal micronutrient supplementation, on the other hand, has been shown in clinical studies to be safe and effective in improving fertility; decreasing the risk of congenital anomalies; and reducing the risk of pediatric cancers. Any medical journal or media source disputing these scientific facts does not serve your health interests, but rather the profit interests of the trillion-dollar-a-year pharmaceutical investment 'business with disease'.

Federal pain panel rife with links to pharma companies

NEWS

A federal panel that has recently criticized efforts to cut back on painkiller prescriptions is studded with members who have financial ties to drug companies.

COMMENT

Making payments to its representatives in positions of influence is a key strategy of the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’. Consider, for example, a recent study which claimed that many more people should be taking “intensive blood pressure-lowering” drugs to reduce their risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Published in The Lancet medical journal, the paper essentially asserted that all people deemed to be at risk should be given drug medication – even if their current blood pressure level is normal and irrespective of the danger of severe side-effects. Significantly, however, in its vigorous promotion of the study, the mass media failed to draw attention to the fact that half of the researchers who carried it out had connections to multinational drug companies or pro-pharmaceutical research interests.

In particular, mention of financial payments made to the researchers by the drug industry and its stakeholders was notably absent in the media. Unreported by the world’s newspapers, the monies paid have included grants, honoraria, travel reimbursement, personal fees and salary support. Just as worryingly, nor did the media either make mention of the fact that several of the researchers have been on drug company steering committees or advisory boards.

Seralini paper claiming GMO toxicity disappears after journal domain expires

NEWS

A paper claiming genetically modified corn may be toxic over long periods has disappeared one day after it was presented at a press conference, after the journal’s domain name expired.

COMMENT

Given the vast amounts of money at stake, the GM industry will stop at nothing to prevent the people of the world from learning about the dangers of its products. Patents on GM seeds act as powerful incentives for their owners to find ways of forcing GM foods onto global markets, regardless of the dangers to human health.

Fully aware of the massive opposition to their products, the GM manufacturers are engaged in an increasingly desperate attempt to hide the facts. This is why, in the area of food, the key goals of the Movement of Life include bringing an end to the ‘GM madness’.

Antidepressants can raise the risk of suicide, biggest ever review finds

NEWS

Antidepressants can raise the risk of suicide, the biggest ever review has found, as pharmaceutical companies were accused of failing to report side-effects and even deaths linked to the drugs.

COMMENT

Far from being the safe and effective drugs they are portrayed as by the pharmaceutical industry and its stakeholders, antidepressants have been shown to damage sperm quality and harm fertility; increase the risk of being admitted to the hospital for abnormal bleeding; and have an adverse effect on bone growth in children.

If taken while pregnant they are also known to increase the risk of miscarriage and the likelihood of the child having heart abnormalities and other birth defects. Still further serious problems linked to this class of drugs include a raised risk of dangerous irregular heartbeats, strokes or high blood pressure; and even an increased likelihood of being convicted of assault and murder.

Notably, therefore, a major review has shown that Prozac, an antidepressant taken by 40 million people worldwide, does not work and that nor do similar drugs in the same class. As such, with major risks to health, and no apparent benefits, it is nothing but criminal that these drugs are still being prescribed.

Low folate in early pregnancy linked with poorer cognition in children later

NEWS

Low prenatal folate levels may be associated with a smaller total brain volume and poorer language and visuo-spatial performance in children at six to eight years, research suggests.

COMMENT

Pregnant women have higher nutrient requirements than normal due to the developing child removing nutrients from their bodies. As such, to protect against nutrient deficiencies and ensure normal development for the child, it is highly advisable for women to take supplements during pregnancy.

Significantly, therefore, following research that took almost a decade to complete, a study in Europe has found that supplementing mothers with folate during pregnancy may help improve their child’s attention system.

Fatty acids from GM oilseed crops could replace fish oil

NEWS

Oil from genetically modified (GM) oil seed crops could replace fish oil as a primary source of the beneficial Omega 3 fatty acid EPA – according to new research from the University of East Anglia (UEA).

COMMENT

While theoretically this is true, the fact is that the vast majority of people who take Omega 3 supplements are by definition health-conscious and would not knowingly want to consume anything containing GM ingredients. The GM industry is fully aware of this, of course, which is why it opposes mandatory GM labeling.

Significantly, therefore, an article published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) in August 2015 argued that the United States government should change its position and require labeling of GM foods. Only time will tell whether the country’s Food and Drug Administration heeds this call.

But the longer it refuses to do so, the louder and stronger the arguments will become that its officials are putting the interests of GM manufacturers first and those of consumers a very distant second.

Complementary health body backs call for more vitamin D self-medication

NEWS

With up to 58% of Australians found to suffer from vitamin D deficiency, the complementary medicines industry has welcomed a new article published in the Medical Journal of Australia that encourages proactive vitamin D supplementation, rather than testing for patients seen to be at risk of deficiency.

COMMENT

Despite having plentiful sunshine and an outdoor lifestyle, it is significant that the incidence of vitamin D deficiency in Australia has still managed to reach crisis levels.

Moreover, looking at the situation in the rest of the world, it is quite clear this is now a global problem. In the United States and Canada, vitamin D deficiency is well known to be widespread.

In Europe, levels in the blood have been shown to be low in 50% to 70% of the population. Pregnant Arab women, meanwhile, have an "extraordinarily high prevalence" of vitamin D deficiency, whilst India is also now home to a growing epidemic of it.

Ultimately, the reality is that micronutrient deficiency is a global problem that requires a globally sustainable solution

Big Pharma Leaders Warn Against Brexit

NEWS

Big pharma leaders have warned against a British exit from the EU ("Brexit"), reports the Financial Times.

COMMENT

In a particularly notable quote in this press release, Roger Perlmutter, head of research and development at Merck, one of the world’s largest drug companies, said that Britain's withdrawal from the Brussels EU would be "challenging" for his company’s scientists, who had benefited from receiving grants from it.

Notably, his statement came only days after British prime minister David Cameron had openly urged business leaders to campaign for Britain to remain a member of the dictatorial construct.

As Britain’s referendum on its Brussels EU membership draws closer, it seems safe to predict that the multinational pharmaceutical and chemical industries will be doing all they can to terrify the British people into voting against leaving.

UK uproar over requiring asylum seekers to wear wristbands for food

NEWS

Asylum seekers in Cardiff, Wales, will no longer be required to wear wristbands in order to receive meals, following a public outcry over the practice. The company contracted by the UK government to provide accommodation to asylum seekers in parts of England and Wales has dropped the policy, which critics slammed as dehumanizing.

COMMENT

As Europe’s refugee crisis grows, the parallels with WWII history continue to mount. With some refugees having numbers written on their hands by authorities upon arrival; others being taken by train to camps they did not want to go to; and still others being told they aren’t welcome because of their religion, we have to ask who is responsible for this situation.

It is clearly not for no reason that people from other regions of the world, haunted by poverty, hunger and wars, come banging on the doors of the wealthy nations of Europe to ask for help. While there are many factors involved, the ultimate responsibility for all this lies with the Brussels EU. This political construct has been deliberately designed as the global politburo of the multinational Chemical, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical Drug Cartel.

Through political, economic and military pressure – resulting in poverty, hunger and wars – its dictatorial model is increasingly being spread around the world and forced upon other countries with highly detrimental effects. The refugee crisis that is engulfing Europe is a direct result of this.

To Fight ‘Superbugs,’ Drug Makers Call for Incentives to Develop Antibiotics

NEWS

More than 80 pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies from around the world are calling for new economic models to spur development of badly needed new antibiotics and to fight the rising global threat of drug-resistant “superbugs.”

COMMENT

Not content with the one trillion dollars per year it already makes from the sale of drugs, the pharmaceutical ‘business with disease’ now wants governments to provide financial support for the development of new antibiotics.

As ever its implicit message is that only drugs are capable of eradicating diseases, and that without government money millions of people will supposedly be at risk of developing life-threatening infections. But what the drug industry doesn’t want you to know is that an optimum supply of specific micronutrients is critical in supporting cellular functions that are essential for an effective immune response and a strong immune system.

In contrast, a chronic lack of these micronutrients weakens the body’s immune system and makes it prone to developing infections and immune deficiency diseases. These outcomes can be avoided through safe, simple and effective means – including optimum nutrition and specific micronutrient supplementation.

So we encourage you to share the facts as widely as possible: micronutrient supplementation CAN enhance immune function and suppress infection!
