Drug spending to jump 30% to $1.3T in 2020

NEWS

As criticism of soaring prescription drug prices in the U.S. grows, global spending on medicines is expected to rise 3 percent to 6 percent annually for the next five years, according to a new forecast from IMS Health. The health data firm predicts global spending will increase by about 30 percent cumulatively from about $1 trillion now to about $1.3 trillion in 2020, driven by expensive new drugs, price hikes, aging populations and increased generic drug use in developing countries.

COMMENT

As this statistic shows, the pharmaceutical “business with disease” is financially unsustainable.

The sooner it can therefore be replaced with a trulypreventative healthcare system, based on scientific breakthroughs in the areas of vitamin research and cellular health, the better it will be for all mankind.

Meantime, next time you are asked to donate to a medical charity collecting money for drug research, remember that the pharmaceutical industry – as a TRILLION dollar-a-year enterprise – doesn’t need your financial support.

Over three million Europeans sign anti-TTIP petition

NEWS

A Europe-wide initiative of citizens has collected over three million signatures against the TTIP trade agreement negotiated between the EU and the US.

COMMENT

If implemented, TTIP (also known as the Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement, or TAFTA) would inevitably flood Europe with GMOs, destroy environmental safeguards and threaten entire economies.

In the United States it would destroy the "Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act” (DSHEA) – the law that has guaranteed free access to vitamins and other natural therapies for Americans since 1994.

To learn more about this so-called “free trade” deal and why it should be opposed by European and American citizens alike, visit our ‘Say NO to TAFTA’ campaign page.

Chondroitin sulfate may beat anti-inflammatory drugs for knee health support

NEWS

Daily supplements of chondroitin sulfate may be superior to celecoxib, a potent anti-inflammatory drug, for supporting knew joint health and delaying the progression of osteoarthritis, says a new study.

COMMENT

Not only are chondroitin sulfate supplements superior to celecoxib in the control of osteoarthritis, they are also completely safe.

The known side-effects of celecoxib, on the other hand, are numerous and include serious liver problems; bleeding in the stomach or intestines; increased risk of heart attack or stroke; allergic reactions; breathing problems; skin problems; bloody or black, tarry stools; urinary problems; chest pain; shortness of breath; coughing up blood; heart rhythm problems; nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain; numbness or weakness in arms, legs or on one side of the body; calf pain; sudden or severe headache; dizziness; problems with vision, speech, or walking; swelling in hands, ankles, or feet; rapid weight gain; and tiredness or weakness.

However, despite this incredibly long list of side-effects, the pharma industry ultimately benefits from them as further drugs are almost inevitably required in order to treat them. Thus, it can be seen that it is not in the financial interests of the pharmaceutical industry to prevent diseases and health problems. To the contrary, in fact, their maintenance and expansion is a precondition for the industry’s financial growth.

Dietary potassium may help prevent kidney and heart problems in diabetics

NEWS

Diets rich in potassium may help protect the heart and kidney health of patients with type 2 diabetes, according to a study appearing in an upcoming issue of the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN).

COMMENT

Dr. Rath’s Cellular Medicine approach provides a scientific breakthrough in understanding the cause, prevention, and adjunct management of diabetes. The primary reason why adult onset diabetes (Type II) develops is a long-term deficiency of specific cellular micronutrients that work in synergy in millions of cells in the pancreas (the organ that produces insulin), the liver, and the walls of blood vessels.

This new understanding explains the reason for the severe circulatory problems that occur in this disease. Diabetes significantly increases the chances of developing atherosclerotic deposits, which by clogging the blood vessels can increase the risk of heart attacks, foot amputation, blindness and other severe consequences. Significantly, therefore, a six-month pilot study conducted by researchers at the Dr. Rath Research Institute has confirmed the positive effects of a synergistic combination of cellular micronutrients on diabetic patients.

You can learn more about diabetes and read about this study here.

Is our food becoming less nutritious?

NEWS

It’s a sad fact that the nutritional quality of our food is declining. The main reason for this is the depletion of essential minerals in our soil. Modern intensive agricultural methods have left our soil mineral poor and this, in turn, impacts the food we grows and eat.

COMMENT

Contrary to what our governments are telling us, it is no longer possible to get all the vitamins and minerals we need in our food. Independent studies conducted in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and other countries have proven this by showing that the micronutrient content of our food has fallen substantially over the past few decades.

More information on this important subject can be found in this special information section on our website.

MI5 and GCHQ secretly bulk collecting British public's phone and email records for years

NEWS

MI5 and GCHQ have been secretly scooping up the telephone and email records of the British public for almost 15 years, the Home Secretary has revealed for the first time.

COMMENT

As Dr. Rath explained in his speech at the Movement of Life meeting in Auschwitz last year, our leaders are lying to us when they tell us that, in order to fight terrorism, they need to read our emails, listen to our phone conversations and track every movement we make.

Ultimately, the only reason for this gargantuan government surveillance operation is that our leaders are afraid of us, the people, waking up and replacing the economic tools of the multinational corporate Oil and Drug Cartel via which they control us. For if this happens, the termination of the Cartel’s dictatorial rule over us will inevitably follow. The only solution to this state of affairs is therefore to unmask the Cartel’s plans and enable the people of the world to look behind the curtain of deception that has been constructed to prevent them from learning the truth. F

or all of us who seek a world of health, peace and social justice, sharing the truth as widely as possible is simultaneously our best defence against dictatorship and our key means of bringing about positive change.

Vitamin C kills tumor cells with hard-to-treat mutation

NEWS

Maybe Linus Pauling was on to something after all. Decades ago the Nobel Prize–winning chemist was relegated to the fringes of medicine after championing the idea that vitamin C could combat a host of illnesses, including cancer. Now, a study published online today in Science reports that vitamin C can kill tumor cells that carry a common cancer-causing mutation and—in mice—can curb the growth of tumors with the mutation.

COMMENT

As the publication of this study demonstrates, little by little the scientific orthodoxy is catching up with Dr. Rath’s scientific discoveries in the area of cancer and the ongoing research being carried out at the Dr. Rath Research Institute in California.

As documented in the book Victory Over Cancer by Dr. Rath and Dr. Aleksandra Niedzwiecki, natural health approaches utilizing the power of Cellular Medicine have already been shown to block all key mechanisms that make cancer a deadly disease.

Student suspended after bringing Vitamin C to school

NEWS

A Marathon High School student was suspended for bringing dietary supplements to school because of a policy the school has.

COMMENT

Dietary supplements containing vitamin C and other natural micronutrients are not drugs and should not be treated as such.

Rather than suspending students for possessing them, this school should instead be holding classes on the essentials of optimum nutrition and cellular health, thus enabling the youngest inhabitants of our planet to take advantage of the latest health breakthroughs in nutritional and Cellular Medicine.

One day in the not too distant future, the suspending of any student for possession of vitamin C at school will be seen as a denial of their human rights to natural preventive health.

Pfizer, Allergan drug merger talks raise tax hackles in U.S.

NEWS

Pfizer Inc, the No. 1 U.S. drugmaker, and Botox maker Allergan Plc said they were in friendly talks to create a pharmaceutical colossus but the prospect that the company would seek to avoid U.S. taxes sounded political alarm bells.

COMMENT

A key aspect of this proposed deal is that by merging with the Dublin-based Allergan company, New York-based Pfizer would be able to take advantage of Ireland's lower tax rates.

Known as a “tax inversion” merger, such moves involve companies relocating their legal domicile to a lower tax country abroad while retaining their material operations in their country of origin. The nature of this proposed deal thus illustrates once again that the highest priority in the pharma industry is providing profits for shareholders.

Contrary to the message given to us by the global media, improving human health is not its driving force.

Vitamin D linked to lower blood pressure and improved fitness

NEWS

Taking vitamin D supplements may lower blood pressure and boost exercise performance, research has shown.

COMMENT

Unlike the Cellular Medicine approach to controlling high blood pressure, conventional, pharmaceutical-oriented medicine is confined to treating the symptoms of this disease.

Beta-blockers, diuretics and other high blood pressure medications artificially lower the blood pressure without correcting the primary underlying problem — a “spasm” of the blood vessel wall.

To learn how high blood pressure can be eradicated naturally by addressing its root cause, visit the Cellular Health section of our Foundation website.

Ministers in Tony Blair's government 'told to burn legal advice warning Iraq War could be illegal'

NEWS

Ministers in Tony Blair’s government were told to “burn” a private document warning that the Iraq War was illegal, it has been claimed.

COMMENT

As this news story illustrates, evidence supporting the validity of the Complaint we submitted to the International Criminal Court in 2003 continues to grow.

Not only is Blair charged in our Complaint with causing injury to and the deaths of millions of people through the ‘business with disease’, war crimes and other crimes against humanity, it is now beyond doubt that he knew he could be held accountable and that he took steps to put himself above international law.

Antioxidants may reduce oxidative stress in men with prostate cancer

NEWS

A higher intake of antioxidants may lead to less oxidative stress among men with prostate cancer, US researchers have found.

COMMENT

Prostate cancer is the leading cancer in men; one in every six will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. In developed countries it is now the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths among men. Worldwide, an estimated 12 million new cases are diagnosed each year.

To learn how a specific combination of micronutrients including vitamin C, green tea extract, selenium and others opens up exciting new possibilities in treating prostate cancer, read this edition of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s newsletter.

Amish girl who fled country to avoid chemo is cancer-free

NEWS

A Columbus attorney has announced that a 12-year-old Amish girl is cancer-free, despite courtroom testimony last year from doctors that she would be dead in six months without chemotherapy treatments.

COMMENT

While Sarah Hershberger’s parents had initially permitted her to be subjected to chemotherapy treatment, they subsequently stopped it due to the toxicity of its effects and fled the United States to seek treatment for her abroad using natural approaches.

In this respect, we are here reminded of the experiences of young Dominik Feld between 2002 and 2004. Tragically, the fight between an outmoded and inhuman form of treatment – chemotherapy – and a breakthrough treatment with no side effects – the Cellular Medicine approach to cancer – accompanied Dominik to his untimely death.

Today, however, as Dr. Rath has recently pointed out, the international attention being given to Ty Bollinger’s Truth About Cancer documentary is a wake-up call to the world’s political decision takers. The false promises that the pharmaceutical and medical status quo has made about chemotherapy and radiation as treatments for cancer are no longer credible.

With trust in these toxic approaches collapsing, people are increasingly turning to natural health approaches that can block all key mechanisms that make cancer a deadly disease. A cancer-free world is possible; it simply depends upon natural health advocates everywhere, working together, to bring it about.

Turing CEO Martin Shkreli Unapologetic for 5,000% Drug Price Hike

NEWS

The price-gouging pharmaceutical CEO under fire for increasing the price of HIV/AIDS drug, Daraprim from $18 to $750 per pill is unapologetic. During an interview with the FOX Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo, Turing CEO Martin Shkreli explained what was behind the move.

COMMENT

The fact that Shkreli is unapologetic for raising the price of Daraprim from $18 to $750 per pill is hardly surprising and provides a good illustration of why we refer to the pharma industry as the “business with disease”.

Fortunately therefore, with a 2013 survey finding that most people feel drug companies see cancer as a making-money opportunity, rather than as a disease to eradicate, it is clear that patients are increasingly recognizing there are serious and unsolvable conflicts of interest between the pharma industry and public health.

If enough of us become active in spreading the life-saving benefits of nutritional and Cellular Medicine, a new truly prevention-oriented system of healthcare can become a reality for our planet.

Certain carotenoids may hold protective role against breast cancer: Research

NEWS

Specific carotenoids are associated with a lower risk of breast cancer, research in China has suggested.

COMMENT

Around 1 in 8 women are likely to develop breast cancer during their lifetime. Worldwide, approximately 1.38 million new cases are diagnosed and 458,000 deaths occur from this disease every year.

However, despite a variety of expensive treatment options and the availability of pharmaceutical drugs, the long-term outlook for the cure of breast cancer using orthodox approaches remains poor.

To learn how a specific combination of micronutrients including vitamin C, lysine, proline, green tea extract and others have been shown to be effective in controlling breast cancer, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s fortnightly news page.

Europe's glory days at an end, warns Juncker

NEWS

The European Union faces long-term economic decline and the “love affair” of integration is at risk, Jean Claude-Juncker has said in a downbeat assessment of the bloc’s future.

COMMENT

If they were genuinely seeking the culprits responsible for Europe’s economic decline, Juncker and his colleagues in the so-called European Commission need look no further than themselves and their predecessors.

By running a corporate-led dictatorship, designed using a Nazi blueprint in which the people of Europe are able to elect neither their president nor the executive level, Juncker and his fellow bureaucrats have no right to expect the trust of the people.

Ultimately, the ‘Brussels EU’ model therefore needs to be replaced by a Europe for the People, by the People in which protecting the health and lives of people, rather than the profits of corporate interests, is given the highest priority.

Medication errors, adverse drug events in one out of two surgeries studied

NEWS

The first study to measure the incidence of medication errors and adverse drug events during the perioperative period -- immediately before, during and right after a surgical procedure -- has found that some sort of mistake or adverse event occurred in every second operation and in 5 percent of observed drug administrations. The study of more than 275 operations at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), which will appear inAnesthesiology, the official medical journal of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, also found that a third of the errors resulted in adverse drug events or harm to patients.

COMMENT

Key studies published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), one of the world’s leading medical journals, clearly support the conclusions reached in this study.

For example, so dangerous is the pharmaceutical approach to medicine that orthodox doctors, hospitals and their treatments have been shown in JAMA to be the third leading cause of death in the United States, exceeded only by deaths from heart disease and cancer. Similarly, a JAMA study published in 1998estimated that in 1994 around 2,216,000 hospitalised patients in the United States had suffered a serious adverse drug reaction (ADR) and that 106,000 had suffered a fatal ADR.

This suggests that prescription drugs were between the fourth and sixth leading cause of death in the USA in that year.

Vitamin B3 can lower risk of skin cancer, researchers find

NEWS

A simple oral dose of an active form of vitamin B3 may be the secret to stopping people with significant sun damage from developing some forms of skin cancer.

COMMENT

Skin cancer is the most common of all types of cancers. While melanoma is the most feared form of skin cancer, non-melanoma skin cancers occur far more often. For example, while the American Cancer Society estimates that 73,000 Americans will be diagnosed with melanoma in 2015, there will be 3.5 million new cases of non-melanoma cancers.

To learn how a specific micronutrient combination has been shown to be effective in controlling skin cancer, read this issue of the Dr. Rath Research Institute’s fortnightly newsletter.
